Mutant Dream is my gamedev homebase on the internet. I showcase all of my best game creations there, and I have a blog that I write in whenever enough time has passed to guilt me into it. Hopefully I'll have more motivation to blog when more of my projects are ready to be shared with the public.

I hope you enjoy these games as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Actually, I hope you enjoy them more than I enjoyed creating them, because gamedev's a pain in the derriere.

Very nice, only suggestion, in firefox, the images/banner.jpg gradient doesn't line up with the background.

Well, this year-old topic could do with a resurrection. I'll try to post news more regularly. Probably the biggest news that I have is that I've put up a new HTML5 game, "Vital Spark". This slightly modified version of my GMC Jam #9 entry can be found here.

I've been putting off writing a walkthrough for the game, but perhaps I'll get to that this weekend.

The first alpha tech demo of our game, "K.I.S.A", has been released. The page on Mutant Dream can be found here. There is also a GMC topic here.

Description

K.I.S.A is, essentially, a fairytale. It is a story about knights, kings, princesses, witches, monsters, and heroes, but they are probably not of the kind that you are used to. Like most fairytales, it is likely that this story sometimes says one thing and really means something else - or even a lot of something elses. There is also probably a moral to be found in there somewhere.

The tale pivots around the titular Kisa, a lowly jester who is accused of witchcraft and sentenced to burn at the stake. The night before her execution a disembodied voice instructs her to break out of the dungeon, and propels her on an epic quest across a treacherous land to rescue a princess from terrible danger.

Technical Features

- skeletal animation
- ragdoll physics
- cloth + hair physics
- delta timing
- overlay lighting
- joystick + gamepad support

A step-by-step walkthrough for my HTML5 game Vital Spark has been written, and can be found on the MD blog here. Most of the fun of Vital Spark is exploring and figuring things out, so only use it if you're firmly stuck!
