Subtotal: £61.38

Says on the product page that Studio is only 61 euros, is this a glitch or is it on sale?

The price is in British Pounds, since YoYoGames is a UK based company. The conversion rate constantly fluctuates, but £61.38 GBP is currently roughly equivalent to $99 USD.

I believe Google Wallet also displays the current conversion rate, and total price in your currency when purchasing.

Ah, I just got mixed up then.

Well, I tried using a Visa prepaid card to buy Studio and it wouldn't work.

Second card I've used to buy GM: Studio. I think I'm just done with buying from YoYo Games now.

Since there's often no billing address linked to a prepaid credit card, online payments tend to fail if the payment processor performs verification checks on the billing address.

I believe most re-loadable prepaid credit cards are issued under your name and billing address, so you might have better luck with one of these if available to you.

Insufficient funds on the prepaid card to cover the cost of Studio, transaction fees charged by the credit card provider, and any currency conversion fees could also be the issue. (I.e. If you've only got $100 USD on the card, I doubt this would be enough to cover the transaction along with fees.)

Ultimately though the problem lies with either Google Wallet, or your card provider - so there isn't too much YoYoGames can do.

I called the prepaid card company and they only tell me 'Purchases can not be made in this country'.

So now I'm stuck with a $120 card that I have no use for. You guys have no idea how much of a hassle it has been for me to buy Studio. I've been trying ever since HTML5 has been out and since then I cannot buy it no matter what I do.

Edit: It says it could be used worldwide, so obviously it was false information.

'Purchases can not be made in this country' - Would suggest that your card provider blocks international transactions (or those transactions being made in a currency other than USD, in this case GBP.)

There's really nothing YoYoGames or Google Wallet can do about this. The only real solution would be to get a card from a different provider that allows international currency transactions.

It says in their cardholder agreement..

Foreign Transactions. If your Walmart MoneyCard is used in a transaction that is submitted to the Visa or Interlink networks in a currency other than U.S. dollars, Visa will convert the transaction amount into U.S. dollars using its currency conversion procedure. Under the currency conversion procedure that Visa currently uses, the non-U.S. dollar transaction amount is converted into a U.S. dollar amount by multiplying the transaction amount in the non-U.S. dollar currency by a currency conversion rate. The currency conversion rate that Visa typically uses is either a government-mandated rate, or a wholesale rate provided to Visa. The currency conversion rate that Visa uses for a particular transaction is the rate Visa uses for the applicable currency when the transaction is processed. This rate may differ from the rate in effect when the transaction occurred or when it was posted to your Walmart MoneyCard, and may be higher than the rate you could have gotten if you had converted U.S. dollars into cash. If a transaction initially in a foreign currency is converted to U.S. dollars before it is entered into the Visa or Interlink networks, the conversion rates and fees of the company that did the conversion will apply. If your Walmart MoneyCard is used to make a transaction that is submitted to the MasterCard network in currency other than U.S. Dollars, the network will convert the charge or credit into a U.S. dollar amount in accordance with its operating regulations or conversion procedures in effect at the time the transaction is processed. MasterCard International's regulations and procedures provide the currency conversion rate it uses is either: (1) a wholesale market rate or (2) a government mandated rate in effect on the day of the central processing date. For both Visa and MasterCard Walmart MoneyCards, for each transaction made in a country other than the U.S. or U.S. Territories, you will be assessed a charge equal to 2% of the U.S. dollar amount of the transaction.

Yes, I understand it is not their fault, although I hope YYG's new payment system actually works or I will just forget about ever buying anything from them again.

WHy not just link your Visa to your Google Wallet account and buy it straight from Google Wallet?
