How do you save as an app? It's not listed under the file menu. Is it not available in Lite (which is what I'm using)?

You need to purchase the full version of studio, and either the android or ios export modules. (or both)

GM version? Studio? 4Mac? And app for iOS?
Anyways, no it's not included in any free version.
The only way to export as an app for iOS (or Android), is by purchasing the GM:Studio (which is only for Windows), and buy a licence for exporting to iOS. Which is 99$ for Studio, and 200$ for the export-part.

Sorry for not being clear. What I mean is... save the file as a .app file (executable) so it can be run on the Mac OS (like how you can use the Windows GM to save a file as an exe to run it on Windows...) Not an iOS app.
I'm using GM for Mac (version 7.5.83). I assumed it could be done like how you do it in the Windows GM... where you just choose "create executable" under the file menu, but there's nothing like that in the file menu. Well that's what it says in the help file anyway.

I see... is there any way to do that (the Mac executable anyway) in the regular GM4Mac or do you need Studio? I actually haven't paid for the full version of anything yet... still trying to decide if I should get GM4Mac or GMStudio. GMStudio sounds better because of that... but I don't understand why it's so expensive compared to GM4Mac if it's the exact same thing but with just one extra feature (the saving to different platforms thing)

Honestly I never used Lite, but I would imagine it is for testing/showing your game, not making an executable. However I DO NOT know for sure.

Amazingly enough they haven't included a Create executable in the Lite-version of GM4Mac!

I find that pretty weird though... It's in the GM8.1 Lite, isn't it? Unfair :P

you can't export an app because its the lite version, studio costs $99 because the base comes with an export to windows and mac, another $99 for html5, and $200 for each mobile export

does that answer your questions?

Is the HTML5 just 99$? I didn't know that.. Anyways:
If you're planning on just developing for mac, and don't own a windows-computer, then I'd go with the 39$ pro version of gm4mac. It's not that much money after all. If you're more serious about it, I'd start thinking about GM:Studio.

GM for Mac lite is exactly the same as pro, but you can't export an app.

So GM Windows Lite has all sorts of restrictions, such as a watermark, several functions unavailable, etc. GM for Mac's only restriction is that you can't export an app.
