Am I allowed to sell my copy of GM 8.1 or studio if I uninstall them from all of my compters and stop using them?

Because honestly all I want/need is either html5 and gm81/studio but not 81 and studio. The only target platforms I'd like to develop are Html5 for game demos, and PC/Mac for full versions to be sold.

Mobile devices are not at all what I intend to work with.

If i sell studio would that forfeit any further legal use of Hmlt5, or is that still considered a seperate product?

I'm saving up money for other things so this would be a big help. Thanks.

Read the licence agreement.

I don't currently have access to my 8.1 or Studio licence, but do have access to GM 7.0's and it states:

"Upon your acceptance of these terms and installation of the Software, YoYo Games grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right and licence to install and use the Software on and subject to these terms."

So according to that licence agreement, no.

I'm guessing 8.x and Studio have similar clauses.

Is there a way I could get written permission from YYG?
I'd really hate to see my software not put to better use.

And yes I'll take no for an answer just double checking.

The only people that can answer this is YYGs, though I doubt they will answer it publicly, and I doubt they will accomodate it.

no u cant 99.999% of softwares do not let you sell it on. most not really allow you to install it too many times or give it away.

selling 8.1 is so little money so it doesnt matter really, its not like Studio or adobe suite... other companies may license you to sell there software on(modified or not) but yoyo will pretty much not do that for just you, they are concentration on future versions anyways

html5 edition is no longer available stand alone so just use studio.

Just do the math. They exchanged your HTMl5 license for Studio because the don't devleop HTML5 further. You got it for free. Now you are allowed to use Studio but not HTMl5 anymore. If you sell your Studio license, which is not allowed by their license, you have no license anymore. Your HTML5 license was trade in by you for Studio in the first place.

If you had GM8.1 and purchased GM:HTML5, then it actually deducted the $20 or $25 or whatever from the price of GM:HTML5. At least for me it did. Then getting GM:Studio from GM:HTML5 meant that I got GM:Studio for free + the HTML5 module.

(Wow..I love YoYo. Such a cool company)

@MikeHart- Actually I heard from an Administrator that I CAN use Html5 even now that studio is released, but unlike GM:S, HTML5 won't get any updates, which to me is ok. Anyways I won't sell it now that I know. Thanks guys.

If you have GM8.1 and purchase studio do you receive a similar discount? If so, how would i go about doing so if it's not too much trouble?
