Will there be a module for creating apps on the Windows Phone as well? I tried using one of MS's apps and it was way overcomplicated.

Not sure about this, but in all honesty if you are truely interested in developing for the Windows Phone
(developing games specifically), I highly recommend just using XNA Game Studio and searching up some tutorials.

If they do come out with one for Game Maker Studio, I really don't think it would be worth the money
or even worth waiting for. You're better off just using XNA.

Just my two cents.

Might have a shot with Winblows 8, since c++ should work on all windows 8 platforms. I doubt they will roll anything out for the dying Windows 7/CE OS.

There probably will be a Windows Phone exporter sometime down the track, if it makes any market impact.

Microsoft development tools are very good, and often free, but they do tend to abruptly pull the plug on things if they don't suit their current vision (eg. Silverlight). This is one of the good things about niche products like GM, they're not going to let it die, as that is what they are.

Dying?

Windows 7 Phone utilizes the XNA 4.0 framework which is the current framework for Xbox 360. It has been stated by Microsoft that those apps can be directly put into the Windows 8 App Store as well. It is also expected that NextGen Xbox will c

I really hope YoYoGames considers trying to make an exporting tool for XNA/WP7/Windows 8

... Ok, except that the Windows 8 Appstore likely won't run on WP7. This is Microshaft, as soon as Windows 8 is on retail, Windows 7 support will drop to bug fixes and the WP7 devices will get shipped to 3rd tier tech support in Malaysia, until people finally chuck them off bridges. So will the current generation of Winblows phones see GMS support? About as likely as Apple lowering the price on iOS dev licenses. Short of Windows 8 being a total craptastrophy, I would expect to see support for it at some point. I'd like to see Linux support to really. WINE might cover it, but I've never tried to see if it works.

Also, being able to port to 360 might be nice. But I don't know if M$ lets XNA stuff get compiled outside their SDK's.
