GameMaker:Studio license issues

Please be aware that if you are upgrading just now, when you add the HTML5 license, it will add ANOTHER copy of Studio to your basket and apply the discount to that one. You should remove the other copy before preceding to checkout. If you are being billed for base+html5 after doing the upgrade, you've done "something" wrong, go back, refresh the page, and start again.
We will be upgrading the purchase process a little for those waiting to upgrade from HTML5 to make it a little easier. We hope to get this done today, so if in doubt, wait until this is done.
if you have upgraded and have any issues, then please file a ticket at the helpdesk, and we'll do our best to deal with it as soon as we can.
As to Paypal... I'm afraid we can not reimplement Paypal as a payment system at this time as they can not deal with spikes in revenue without immediately thinking it's fraud. They are not a bank, they are unregulated, and are a law unto themselves. As easy as it is for users, they simply can't cope with companies who make large sales every now and then as we do when a new product comes out.
There is nothing we can currently do about this.
Lastly.... we will be implementing another payment system in the coming weeks, so if you are unable to buy Studio via Google Checkout, then we are confident you will be able to in the near future.
Thanks for your understanding, and please bear with us while we sort this.

Upgrading from HTML5 should now be much simpler. If you have ANY issues, start from the start again and force refresh the page.

I'll purchase before this, however. Already went through the trouble of transferring my PayPal holdings to my bank account, then from my bank account to Checkout.
What a hassle.
Glad you're so fond of listening to constructive criticism though

The new updated payment process is now online.
Upgrading from HTML5 should now be much simpler. If you have ANY issues, start from the start again and force refresh the page.
I've tried again, refreshed page, using Chrome. I enter my mail and my HTML5 lic and the first page shows a 0 balance due but when I proceed to the next page that tells me that the lic will be emailed to my address I have a $198 total.
So still not really working right also tried just downloading from the my_account page and installing it straight from that exe but the s/w is not able to validate the license which I cut and pasted from the my_account page
I have an IT ticket open on this already and all the issues I've run into are there.
I also have now somehow messed up my HTML5 version as well as it seems to only come up without any windows and I'm unable to get any windows up. Tried reinstalling from scratch but no dice.
Pretty messy. I'm glad I don't make my living at this.

For those who buy a module, and can't get the export to work. this is a little more complicated.
Basically, you will have to wait on the purchase being finalised. This can take a little time, but you should receive an email from both Google and ourselves telling you the purchase was complete. Once you receive this, THEN try and get Studio to revalidate your new, upgraded license.
We're putting in a new email system to keep users informed of this this step-by-step, rather than just at the end of the process. It'll basically just say that the license may not be valid until the purchase is finalised. You'll then get one at the end of the process informing you of the license, and then your good to go.

We believe we've found the (other) issue which was causing the $198 charge, so that should be good to go now.

Does it matter if I simply downloaded the s/w and used the key that was provided in my_account? Or do I actually need to go through the purchase form?

"It will only be possible to upgrade from GameMaker:HTML5 to Studio for free." (Ticket closed.)
Really? LOL
However, I can confirm that the cart is accepting the license now for me, and hopefully for everyone else. Thanks to the devs for fixing :-)

It's a different key, the keys stored in your account will not work. You have to go through the purchase process.

Edit: Oh no!! I tried deleting the license file from the appdata folder to re-validate it.. and now I can't open GM:studio at all! It's saying that my key isn't valid.

Edit 2: So I assume the 'purchase confirmation' email from YoYo (which I have received) is separate from the 'purchase complete' email (not received yet) that signals that the license has truly been updated?
(Made ticket #3038874, with some additional details that that might be effecting the order).
14 hrs. after purchase, and the license is still invalid.

same here as well and all my work now on hold
should have waited for a while before purchasing it , i mean whats the fun of purchasing license key that dosent work
now whole of my project is on indefinate hold , this whole gamestudio upgrade and licensing issues has tarnished gamestudio's potential success
after working so hard on a software they messed it up with buggy licensing authentication and delayed purchasing system
