So lets say the zombie apocalypse really do happen; what is your strategy on surviving one?
Weapons, skills and etc.

Also you can tell your tactics in surviving in different situations, like you get trapped in a sewer or confined in your house with 10,000 zombies surrounding it.

Obviously melee weapons and martial arts would be more useful in the long run since you don't have to sustain yourself with ammo. I would totally craft a katana.

But your cutting through thick flesh, and katana is like, something kg.
Martial arts would be a very very bad idea, 'cause your punching infected flesh and you most likely get infected.

1. I would gather everyone up and drive to the most creepiest cemetery I can find.

2. Wait till dark and party.

3. Then the Zombies... wait... never mind... bad idea. That movie didn't end well.

Maybe we should cremate all the dead people so we don't have to worry about the living dead.

But if living humans turn to zombies then...

The best strategy is to stay at home at watch TV.

In a zombie outbreak scenario am I the only one who thinks a bigger threat than the zombies are the other humans around you? Mass looting, break-ins and murders would be committed daily in greed. It wouldn't be until a few months later that the more crafty (or lucky) people finally needed to work together to survive.

A zombie outbreak wouldn't just "happen" and render the world a wasteland like everyone thinks. It would be a very long time (if even at all) that the world degenerated into total chaos.

I guess that's all reliant on how the zombies are created though. If it's in the air and can happen at random then you might see scenarios like that. If it's only contact I can see it being contained relatively easily.

Yeah, assuming zombies can't swim they'd at most flood one continent, letting everyone escape to the other six. Assuming no "carriers" (infected, but not zombies) exists, of course.

But your cutting through thick flesh, and katana is like, something kg.

Well obviously I wouldn't be able to craft a real katana, but I figure I could make a blade sharp enough with a normal hammer, a normal oven, and some aluminium. Sharp enough to use in an emergency, at least, and maybe cut off a few arms/hands.

You mean someone has actually built a zombie-proof house IRL? Whoa, I didn't know anyone would take this topic that seriously!

That's incredible Nocturne!

Overall I think my GMC zombie dream-team is:

  • Myself: Well duh. I know many forms of first aid and CPR, I'm a decent shot and my attention to details means I won't miss a single thing while scavenging.
  • Jlm07: Since he made the thread is obviously prepared, also his observations on others fighting techniques seems to imply he has a cool head and wouldn't do something stupid.
  • Yal: Just play her games, she knows the undead and ways to dispatch them. Her sense of design would also prove handy maybe when constructing a fort or something.
  • Zeddy: You've seen his costume. He's ready to kick ass. He also can potentially have access to like 20 swords and is a wonderful driver.
  • Andy: He's friendly, fair and no one knows more about guns (and their proper care and maintenance) more than him.
  • Lolligirl: Knows and has the potential to learn many languages, very useful when communicating with other survivors.
  • DragonEris: Being a l33t-hacker FPS player has left her vicious. Shes also very crafty and good at bargaining.
  • Sir: Because he really wants to be distraction bait apparently.

Sometimes surviving isn't the solution. We live all these days to prepare our deaths, aren't we? Just make sure we repented our sins and do something good before we all die or turn into a zombie.

Really, staying in home and watching TV is the best option.

5 Reasons:
1. There are predators and scavengers looking out for dead meat. e.g. dogs, maggots, wolves, etc.
2. In the natural environment where 25% of the world has blazing sun, 25% has freezing cold and 50% has four seasons, the're dead meat! (And a house will be comfortable and nice)
3. There is now way a zombie can break a window without shattering his arm off. And I'll be prepared with spanners.
4. We'll be well protected against contact with the undead.
5. There's food !!!!

Who wants to discuss the WORST possible weapons you can use on zombies?

I don't see why everybody assumes they'd survive anyway, stock up on guns and emergency food all you want, unless you want to carry it all round with you 24/7 and shoot anybody who looks unwell, it won't really do you much good.

In case of any apocalypse, I have a strict and clear plan in place:
- Lock door
- Start generator
- Play Morrowind

I did it through the riots, I'll do it through the end of the world.

My GMC team:
Me: Stopping everyone from doing some stupid and useless
FihriKamal: He'll be obviously a zombie. So I'd tie him up and use him as research.
Nocturne: He's widely popular (apparently), and he'd actually go far as search for a zombie house.
Silver Scratch: He created a zombie game, speak Spanish, crossed the border and my best bud.
Robert3D+: He knows everyone who would kick a zombie's ____! <- (insert word).
Sir: Yes, I agree, nobody can be zombie bait better than him! Also he would know how to back-stab somebody.

Also make sure nobody wields a chainsaw during the apocalypse! (movies are dumb!)

EDIT:

I browsing when I found these articles (and somehow all my predictions are true!!!!)

P.S. WARNING: The writers of these articles are perverted comedians. So beware of vulgar language and perverted images (the images aren't nude or porn. But there are giving of a message. e.g. what do you think when you see a picture of pants?)

You neglected to think about sustenance. Oranges satisfy your appetite and are juicy as well, so they can take the place of food and water. No need to even get into talking about scurvy, either...

Yes, I'm a cannibal, but survival is the only thing that really matters in a zombie apocalypse.

Or we could just grab a couple of coats and you could just take us to Antarctica, where it's zombie-free, has food (e.g. fish, seal, polar bear) and fresh water (and giant ice-breaker ships, probably.) I bet you could fly a plane, right? If you can't then we'll go with your plan...
