Doctor Who! Yes. Anyone here a fan of this show? It's a long-running british softcore science fiction show involving time travel and aliens. Basically.

I'm a fan of this series! Here in my country (Brazil) are still spending the 4th season of 2005. I have many doubts about this series:
- The Jack (who was with him when The Master appeared) is also a Time Lord?
- In the episode "The planet impossible," when the Doctor lost the TARDIS, as things continued to be translated?

Only this.
Until soon!

I got hooked on the Tennant years so I watched all of those and now I'm currently finishing "The pandorica Opens". Hopefully I'll be all done before season 7 rolls around.

1) Why are non of the older doctors options in the poll? Despite the older series having a lot of flaws some of them gave rather good performances for the nature of the show.
2) The show deserves a better description than is given in the first post

Doctor Who is a classic british science fiction show centred around a time travelling humoid known only as the Doctor. The Doctor utilises a sentient grown machine known as the TARDIS in order to not only tranverse space but also time. Although most TARDIS' have the ability to change apperance the one 'owned' by The Doctor is stuck in a 1963 Police Box appearance. The Doctor as a Time Lord has the ability to regenerate essentially making him immortal under normal circunstances , this has allowed him to be played by 11 actors over the years. The Doctor typically travels with 1 or more companions (and or a robotic dog that somehow managed to get its own spin-off show). Throughout his 700 or so years The Doctor has achomplished many feats such as ending the Time War , fending off invasion after invasion of earth and perhaps most notably being 'wished' back into existance after being stuck outside the universe.

3)

- The Jack (who was with him when The Master appeared) is also a Time Lord?
- In the episode "The planet impossible," when the Doctor lost the TARDIS, as things continued to be translated?

No Jack is just a Human from another world who gained immortality through events at the end of Christopher Eccelston's run as The Doctor. He gets his own spin off "Torchwood" which for the first couple of series is pretty good but the last two haven't been nearly as good. The Plot of "Children of Earth" was absurd and the more recent "Miracle Day" felt like it was full of things forced upon it by the Americans.

As far as I'm aware the Tardis doesn't need to be in the same time or space to translate , only functional somewhere. Other than that bull**** explanation I don't know,

Well I can answer this part of your post.

The main reason being I always hear it as David Tennant in question, and most frequently (due to their modern performances) "David Tennant vs Matt Smith".

I agree. By not including the previous doctors (some of which were excellent... Tom Baker, anyone?) you are doing a HUGE dis-service to the show, and those old enough to have seen all the previous incarnations of our beloved Doctor.

It's not a "who is the best doctor" it is "who is the better doctor" ;)

Actually on that note I should probably remove the 3rd option entirely.

Gaah! I can't vote on this!

I like both of the two equally, along with Christopher Eccelston.

Yes, I am a Dw fan in case you hadn't noticed
