Not sure how to address this... it's actually a matter of curiousity.

Some games are restricted via Play to which device / OS you run.. for instance my phone is a Vibrant by Samsung and is on Tmobile. I attempted to download a Doctor Who game (Mazes of Time) from the BBC last year, only the Play market wouldn't allow me to even go to the site that had the download on it because A: my phone was only running Android OS 2.2 Froyo or B: because my phone was a Vibrant, not an actual "Droid" device (according to my Google account settings which I can't seem to change)

flash forward nearly a year and I figured out how to root my phone and put ICS 4.0.3 in it (YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!) and I have had no problems downloading that same Doctor Who game

are these settings in the GMS or would these be more likely in the Google Play market settings? Or is it totally automated by GMS to be backwards/forwards compatible to a specific extent to include as many devices as possible? Sorry if this has been asked before but the forum looks pretty blank to me.

If I recall reading correctly on the Android Developer Website. I believe those are settings set within google Play...but then again I may be thinking of the Apple Store instead (which I think you can specify certain apps by device.

In the Android Developer Console AND Android Manifest File (which is INSIDE the .APk. Apk files are actually just .zip files, so change thee extension to .zip on pc and you can extract it!), you have the options to specify which devices your games support.

By default, I think GM:Studio support Android 2.1 and higher. I might be wrong, but you can check for yourself using the method I said.

yes but according to another thread I read HERE.. if you open up a apk and modify it, it won't work anymore, so even if I successfully made that change, it needs to be done in the game editor, yes?
