384

The only number that nobody knows a single fact about.
Anybody that tells you they know something about this number is either lying or trying to sell something to you.

388 (the number we're up to...) is the maximum value of n so that there exist 6 denominations of stamps so that every postage from 1 to n can be paid for with at most 6 stamps.

In the year 391, flames destroyed the great Library of Alexandria, established in the Mouseion in the fourth century BCE. Among the items lost in the fire are works of science, including parchments by the Greek astronomer Aristarchus of Samos asserting that the Earth orbits the Sun, and dozens of dramatic works by Euripides and Sophocles.

392 is considered the best number by many authorities.
It is often used for top secret pin codes - despite its obvious deficiency, and is commonly referred to as the unbreakable password.

Examples of its usage include every door in the pentagon and most chastity belts.

See - if I don't say the number and only make an ambiguous reference to it, a wave of question marks will follow my post.

401???
I use question marks because this post is clearly far more than 401, so either we're all idiots or a lot of people didn't post a number for some reason.

EDIT: 419.
