Hello.
I would really really really nead a dll that would let me splash a video as a background.
Example: Minecraft has a background video in the main menu of the game, so i would need a .dll that would do the same thing.

I could do an alternative video splash, but I don't know how to make it a background resource, that would require to hack the GM runner, which is forbidden by YYG. If you any of the YoYo staff show me how to get the hWnd of a specific background resource, then I could easily do that. But what are the chances of that happening?

Search the gmc for AVI extract dll, convert your video to an AVI using a freeware tool you can easily find on google, then use the AviExtact dll to get the videos frames, import the video frames as a sprite, ad it as a sprite resource, then you can easily make the video out of drawing a sprite at the lowest depth possible (-100000..) This is the next best thing, let me know if you need any assistance in doing this...

Given the presence of background_get_texture, id say internally backgrounds are just a texture. GMAPI would let you get the texture object iteself and its IDirect3DTexture8, which one could then possibly load frames directly into (possibly with some background task to shift the CPU usage of decoding video off the GM thread if thats an issue). You might possibly also be able to replace the IDirect3DTexture8 with one of your own with optimised D3D flags for per-frame update (Id guess the default is a managed texture, ideally you want a dynamic texture in the default pool I suspect).

Hey, can i request a dll for recording audio from the microphone, please? I know MCI and saudio but they sometimes freeze the game :happy:
