In the 2300s, virtual reality has become a way to experience new worlds and escape the harsh reality of overpopulation and starvation of the planet Earth. Our protagonist Nyla has decided to visit an old friend of hers that specializes in programming and designing virtual reality simulations. He then allows her to test a new virtual reality game he calls DEATHXED. Nyla now must jump from platform to platform shooting at enemies with a portable wrist gun and entering teleporters to proceed to the different levels. Can she beat the game? Who knows? But you better believe me, this game is packed with platforming action and strange environments!

The screens look good... but I couldn't play it.

I unzipped the archive into its own folder, which included sub-folders called: interactive, model, sound, sprites, texture. Along with the .exe itself. However, upon start up I received this error:

ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object menuhudtextthingy:

Error in code at line 7:
draw_text_transformed(x,y,texter,1,1,0)

at position 28: Unknown variable texter

If I tried to "ignore", more errors showed up.

Are you running it on Windows 7? Did you try running it in compatibility mode for XP?

It is very interesting, every computer I have tested it on ran it fine. Maybe you are running Windows Vista? It has been known to 'act up'. The program was created on XP hardware...

I'm running on XP. But an "unknown variable" error shouldn't have anything to do with the OS. Are you sure your zip archive isn't missing some files?

I'm pretty sure, I have run the game on a variety of computers and it works, It is strange that it would do that...

Yes, that is strange.

Dumb question... but have you downloaded the zip archive yourself, unzipped it, and played the game from inside that folder? (Just to make sure the zip archive is complete.)

Not a dumb question at all, I have done that for the CPU I am on right now, (Which uses W7) I will try to download it with my other computer...
