This is my "fly the copter remake" :)

NOW WITH ONLINE HIGHSCORES! Check out the highscore list on my page.
There is also an In-game higscore preview when you die, first it tells you your distance, then the place you took :cool:

Controls:

mouse press - go up
space - change color

When in start screen, click start button to play and options button to set color and sound (no sound for now).

wiw the grafics ib this are realy good they just pop out and it really make the gameplay fun. however li really do think you need a score board so you can see your best distances.

It's actually pretty decent, nice graphical setup
But why do I die when I have a good shield barely scratching an asteroid type thing.

Yes, i'm planning to make a score board, but for that you need an extra file.. maybe just a showing the score after playing it.

When you collide with an obstacle it explodes... that's how the game works.

Whoa. That's actually pretty fun. The graphics are definitely great as they are, the physics are nice, and there seem to be lots of powerups.

Since you asked, here's some stuff you can add:
=== Make it speed up the longer you play. It doesn't seem to get any harder as you go along.
=== Put slopes along the edges that you have to avoid crashing into, instead of just straight lines so there's more variety

It's pretty good already. Hope you finish this.

about the slopes, great idea, but a bit tricky right now :)

Wow thats good for the first try, my best score was 822 :D

An online highscore table? Never thought of that, probably complicated to implement...
Yes, sounds are my next priority :)

What kind of challenges do you suggest? What could i do with the bar on the bottom?

* Proximity mines.

* Alien bats lurking in the ceiling/top, and swoop in if you get too close to them (maybe they only bump you off-course but don't kill you).

Those are some really interesting ideas, I think i'll make proximity mines right now! :D

I only got a little over 200 points, and then it said "23th" ... I'm guessing that is supposed to be "23rd"?

EDIT:
And now I got close to 300, and it said "22th" ... (22nd ?)
Oh, and the reason why I died was that the obstacles created a dead-end :-(

EDIT2:
I see the obstacles "throb" slowly. How about adding larger ones that grow/shrink slower but they take up a larger portion of the screen compared to the smaller ones. That way when you're faced with them you kind of have to squeeze between them but have to gauge it correctly.

EDIT3:
Never mind, I was wrong. The obstacles don't pulsate, I was looking at the effects around the obstacles AND at the same time I had the gun which also made the obstacles shrink and disappear. But it would be cool to have obstacles that pulsate or grow and shrink so you would have to gauge the distance between two (or more) pulsating objects and make your escape between them.

EDIT4:
You know what ... I'm thoroughly confused ... it seems like some of the obstacles grow/shrink but not all of them??? :huh:

Ok, seeing as I've been so "obsessed" with things growing/shrinking. How about having power-ups that either shrink or grow your vessel. BUT if you grow, then the obstacles SHRINK (and stay SMALL for the duration of that power-up) and if you shrink, then the obstacles grow (and maybe there are more of them on-screen, and they only stay this way for the duration of the power-up).

EDIT7:
Hmmm, I notice that hitting the top or bottom doesn't take off any "health" ... in the grand scheme of things I'm ok with that (mainly because I am so terrible at this game) but how about if you do a check, something like "If player is touching either top or bottom for the length of two screen-widths then put a laser on-screen" (the exclamation mark laser) as that would force the player to move away toward the center of the screen-area.

There are instances where the player is forced to bump into either the top or bottom, so please don't implement damage (unless it's super-slow draining damage) for touching the top/bottom.

Oh, my! english is not my mothertongue but i should've seen that :facepalm:

Sry about the dead-end, too much randomization :rolleyes:

I already tried making the player lose health while grinding top and bottom but that turned out to be stupid cuz i really made that grinding possible so you can relieve your hand for moments.. :biggrin:

Shrinking/growing? well, its all random.. the rate, amount, rotations.. all that..

Shrinking/growing the vessel? Interesting idea, might give it a try! Maybe just shrinking so it would actually be usefull :thumbsup:

EDIT: Anybody knows where could i find some good sounds for the game, and how could i speedup the loading time? (already loading larger images externaly)

Yay! The highest I've had so far, and could have gone on for a bit were it not for a couple of beginner's mistakes (tsk, tsk!)

Oh, cool! I like the fact you can change the colours in the options menu (didn't check that out before).
