As long as you have the appropriate accounts to transfer money in then I'm sure it'd work just fine.
It even says on the purchasing page:
Buy now with Google
All our transactions are handled securely by Google. Clicking the 'Checkout' button will take you to Google where you can choose your payment options.
So yeah, I'm going to take an educational guess at say it works. Although I haven't tried with it after reading this I'm gonna say yeah, it works.
My bad if you've already solved this problem. Just thought I'd reply in case you - or anyone else - were still wondering.

I am denied purchasing GM:HTML5 by my credit card company so I'm having to find alternate options to buy it.

So.... you've tried Google Wallet? Your card won't let you transfer funds into that? I don't quite get what you mean.I am denied purchasing GM:HTML5 by my credit card company so I'm having to find alternate options to buy it.
Use a mates card, pay him cash? Go with a better bank?

@Mr. Munchkin: I'v tried paying directly with the debit card on Google Wallet but it declines it every time. There is something called a Google virtual pre-paid card, but I wanted to know if anyone has used it to buy GM:HTML5.

How does it work? and did you use it to buy GM:HTML5 with it?
I don't know about that "virtual card" but I used Google Wallet to buy GM8.1 last month (or was it March). Sign-up process was easy as pie. I used my Visa card and the transaction went through without a hassle. Only thing I had an issue with was that there was an extra fee which wasn't mentioned until I got my paper bank statement. Went to the bank and after they looked into it, they figured out the fee came from Google for handling the conversion from GBP to USD.
Anywho, I have heard plenty of other people having tonnes of issues with getting Google Wallet to work. Seems like it works flawlessly for those living in the USA, while people elsewhere have issues with Google Wallet.

I live in US and it won't work at all.

I've only used Google Wallet, had my bank account connected to it and the transaction went through flawlessly. Don't know about a "Google virtual pre-paid card", sorry.

Also, is the credit card a Visa/MC CREDIT or DEBIT card? Most debit cards are either Visa/MC/Whatever but also connected to your bank account. Just wondering if you are using an actual credit card or a debit card. If it's a debit card (and it's being declined) then just do the transaction via your bank account instead, like I did.
I live in US and it won't work at all.
Ouch! May I ask, what is the specific error-message you get? (word-by word if possible, or screen-shot of it and post it here)
I'm pretty sure we can figure something out, or whom to harangue about this.
EDIT: Hmmm, wait a minute. In the first comment (quote above) you mention you are using a debit card. If so, then just use your bank account (in Google Wallet) instead.

I'm using a credit card, if I said debit card, I definitely meant credit card.
After trying to purchase GM:HTML5, it denies it and tells me to update my credit card. That is what is happening.
