Just a comment to the OP's proposal:
When I participated at Ludum Dare(my entry), I thought with more than 1000 games, I will be lucky if I get 5 comments.

However, one could always click "Play and Rate Games", to see the first 20 or so games to rate. For every rating you receive, you slide down the list. To become part of the first 20 again, you rate other games. I, who rarely ever rated a game in this forum, mostly due to the mazelike folder structure, rated 78 games in three weeks because of this system. And I got nearly as much ratings. An incredibly good system in my opinion.

I would love to see this concept applied to the Creations board, maybe just as a possible sorting order. The game maker could even decide whether he wants to be in that sorting.

I have no idea how the WIP world here works though, as I prefer working on my games instead to writing about them without anyone commenting

I agree 100%. I too remember the good old days when I joined, makes me feel old  I was immature then so I posted some WIP that were simply, terrible. However, I still managed to get a 3-4 posts a day. In fact, there was so much more traffic back then that there would easily be 10 or so "Hot Topics" on the front page. Now I have to go to the second page just to find 3. I don't have time to read all the replies in this thread for other people's suggestions, but my idea is when you make a new thread then you must comment in a different thread in the same sub-forum until you can see any new comments on your thread. The cycle then repeats when you reply to any comments on your thread, or post updates. It seems like the only way to get more traffic in the WIP section, though I'm sure it would piss some people off.
