Added a little pond, and gave both still and flowing water sun glare sparkle things. Not sure what the actual term is, but yet.

Also made it so the HUD disappears while standing still.

Looks great, but in my opinion the sparkles are a bit too big.

I think it looks perfect. I tried using the 1x1 sparkles on the pond, but they weren't that noticeable, so I decided to use them on flowing water instead.

Trust me, it looks awesome in-game.

EDIT: I've decided to remove the music from the garden, and use it for the house instead.

So in place of it, I've set up a dynamic ambient sound system. It's very peaceful, and very nice to listen to. I want to make the game more tranquil than it already is, and I think this is a perfect start to doing so.

Also, I've added swimming, along with footprints that appear and fade when you walk around.

Alright, I'll be waiting for the next public build then :)

Been busy with some other stuff. Going to redo the HUD/inventory before I update it.

mk cool. I was just thinking too, you should make it somewhat indepth with the fishing. different lure help "attract" certain fish...much like the dark cloud series.
if you've never played them, check this out:

I'd play traversia all the time just to fish like this =D

I just played your game, and I have to say, it's quite cool!
I really like the atmosphere, the graphics, the style overall, escpecially the flying animals, little birds etc. :)
some things you could consider:
  • the Roof of the House is only red, maybe a brick texture or little bit more details would look nice
  • the rivers are only straigt from top to bottom, some diagonals or curves could look interessting
  • I'd also implement to change the tools via Arrow Up/Down, not every laptop has a mouse-wheel
  • the radius of which you can interact with the enviroment seems "unrealistic" far, not sure about that
good luck! :)

- Yeah, I know. I'm thinking about redoing it as a medieval styled house with thatching and whatnot, IDK.
- I plan on making curved rivers eventually
- The inventory will be changed to mouse click/movement-only in the next update
- I'm going to be changing this as well. A lot of items already had their placement range changed since the first demo, but a few haven't yet.

So...I got bored today and decided to do a little pixel art thing:

I've been considering redoing the rest of the graphics in this style. What do you guys think?

Thanks. And yep, I did, although the sea foam thing for the water was edited from a Minecraft texture pack (Free to use, and the texture itself is from Animal Crossing. :P).

Also, I've been thinking about just completely redoing the game from scratch. I want to do something BIG. Something people would pay money for. Something people will remember.

For now, I'm just working on graphics for things I'll eventually need, but I'm going to start planning this out more. I've learned from past mistakes that I can't just make games on a whim like I usually do. I just always get so many ideas, and want to do something new. But, I'm drawing the line, and I'm going to focus hard on making this the greatest project it can possibly be.

Would it be possible for a mod to close this topic for now, and reopen it when requested? I don't want people commenting asking about updates or whatever, cause I'll just end up repeating myself.

Only just saw this project now and it looks amazing! Animal Crossing was basically my childhood so it would be great to revisit a nice relaxing game for once. Good luck on the new version/remake!

I know you'd have liked the topic locked, and I'm a bit late on this, but I have to say (although I really love your pixel art!), I like the first style better, and if it were me I wouldn't change it. Sorry if this distracts you from whatever you're doing, but I truly and honestly like the first style better than the second. More cheery to me. Keep it up!

Again, I am just putting my two cents in, but I URGE you to stay with your original graphical style. It's got an amazing feel to it. This one feels too... I don't really know how to explain it. Not unprofessional, just not as good as the other one. I don't like the black outlines on everything, and it feels much darker. If it were me, I'd stick with the original style, and I HIGHLY SUGGEST you do. But it's not my game. Good luck with everything!

The newer style is good, but I just don't think it fits into this style of game. When I play a game like this I generally like to feel happy, and that first style is a whole lot happier than the second. Maybe I'm just weird

I'd say go somewhere in the middle. Keep the original style but increase the contrast of every slightly.
