Sleepy Maneuver is currently participating in the Game Maker Community Jam #6.
Entry Post

Download Here

A factory robot has been working all day and its batteries are running low. It needs to get to a recharge station to recharge, but due to its low battery level it can't think strait and rolls around aimlessly. You need to help maneuver the robot to the station by activating and deactivating blocks as well as telling the robot to jump when needed. However, it can only jump a certain amount of times.

The game features 12 levels.

One of the first entries that I've played, and it seems that this Jam is gonna have quite a few competitors for the top place!
I really liked the game, however I wasn't able to finish it one run.
Not because it was too difficult, but because every time I died, it frustrated me.
Quite often I missed that jump because I was just one second off, and I found that quite a few of those were on the final jump before reaching the exit - which resulted in me having to start the entire level again. Now although that's not necessarily a bad mechanic it just really punishes the player for not being good at the level and it's a little difficult, from a players perspective, to play through 12 of those levels.

Now with my rant out of the way, let me get to the good stuff!
I absolutely loved the idea. I've never seen it done before and it was executed really well. Although maybe the levels can gradually increase in difficulty as you progress? It seemed like the levels went from easy to hard, to really easy to really hard, a little difficult to keep up with. But yeah, the graphics style was nice and simple, the music was decent and the game-play was original and clean.

Please don't read this as me being harsh, it was a great game and I'm definitely going to keep it and finish the last few levels some other time - I think got up to 10ish?. I'm just trying to give some constructive critism to try and help you improve your skills :)

Hay 11clock!

I liked this, even tho it was frustrating at times. Like the above poster, I rage quit, but will be playing it again. Sleepy Maneuver is reminiscent of Falling for Milk, but completely different. Props for that. The games compliment each other very well, IMO, and would go great together in a game pack.

Nice work and looking forward to more and... TAG, you're it!

The criticism for this game is very nice so far. From what I've heard of this game so far, it's a unique idea but it falls short in many fields. I'm considering making a sequel sometime in the future. Here will be some new changes:

-Shorter and less repetitive levels
-Bigger variety in obstacles
-Less obvious and more clever solutions
-Saving system (may be implemented into this game later since I don't think you are allowed to update in mid-competition)
-More levels
-Multiple themes, maybe? (Jungle, Space, etc.)
-Better placed yellow energy orbs

I won't be making the sequel right away, I'm currently busy with other games. I'll also see if my brother can help with level design. Thanks for the feedback, it's greatly appreciated!
