else i would make your own, if you want to do what you said, having some frictions and gravity and directional speed should do the job.
I have not used the mac version but there are some inefficent physics "engines" for normal game maker. Hence why game maker studio has the option for box 2d, one of the most standard 2d physics engines out there.

Any recommendation on physics engine for GM on Mac? I am trying to simulate a car going up and down slopes based on curvature..Thanks!
Thanks; if I understand you correctly, Box 2D engine will be made available as part of GM studio which may at some point become available for Mac? Until then I should try to make do w Gravity settings in GM4Mac?

It runs fine in a VM so you can develop for your Mac easily. It's unlikely that GM:Studio will be released to run natively on OS X, as it's written in Delphi. I understand that GM9 will be targeted for both Mac and Windows, but that's a long time away.
For what it's worth, I prefer GM:Studio in a Windows VM, more than GM4Mac.
