Hello,
I just purchased GM 8.1 and am trying to follow the documentation/tutorial for the First Person Shooter. On page one, (pdf) it tells me to open the file fps0.gmk in the Examples folder. I found the examples folder, but when I try to open the folder, it opens my old version of GM (7.0).
Please Help!!!

Just a file association error/ambiguity -- which you can fix later.I found the examples folder, but when I try to open the folder, it opens my old version of GM (7.0).
For now, open GM8.1 first. Then from within GM8.1 (open file option), navigate to the folder you want and open the files.

Chance's advice is spot on. To add to that, once you open a gmk, just save it and it will save as a .gm81 file. After that, you can open it by just clicking it. Good luck to you

you can also right click on a gmk and select properties and hit change, it will show a window find gm8.1 and double click it,Chance's advice is spot on. and from now on all gmks will be opened in gm8.1
