Hi folks,

for a test I was running an HTML5 game created in Studio on my IPad2. While it perfoms great (speed wise), I hear no sound. The same game runs fine on my IMac in a browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome).
Is an IPad2 not sound compatible with an HTML5 game made in GMS?

Michael

A regret, to say the least...

Yes, I believe it's a limitation of most mobile browsers in order to save bandwidth on paid data plans -at least I believe that was their intention...

The real question is..why are you using HTML5 for an iPad? You really shouldn't develop in HTML5 for a device :Studio supports, especially if you plan on getting a developers license anyways to publish for Apple in the first place.

In that case file a bug. I think there was an issue with the mp3s which was fixed recently.

Apple was declaring their great HTML5 support in their iOS devices, so it's not very surprising to create web games for it.

Why I am testing this? Because IOS device users will also be able to play HTML5 games on their browser. And I was curious how they perform. AND it should be tested. This IS a beta test, right?

Thanks for all the answers. YYG has already checked my bug report about this and they see no way to make it work.

Bugs or not there is always a solution :).

If you use HTML5 on apple devices you have to use Sound Manager 2 extension from this forum to have sounds o isafary (use javascript to play sounds, a simply trick to the apple sound limitation on browser).
If you use the yoyorunner the mp3 have a bug, but you can use wave files.
