Looks awesome!
I'll try it out now, and probably edit this post when I have played it a bit.

EDIT: I liked the game, but it gets pretty repetive pretty quickly. I also saw some zombies (That's what they were right?) get stuck in the walls and such, but overall it's pretty good. I only played for about 15 mins.

Pics look fantastic...but I think the 97mb download is scaring a lot of players away.

How is the memory being divided between music and graphics?

The original music at 128kbps accounts for 25.5mb. I had to cut it down to 64kps for a total of 12.9mb to fit it on yoyogames. 128kbps Soundtrack
The art takes the majority of the space. For example the sprite for the player is 143x135 with 94 frames of animation and there are 6 different versions.
Gaalgoth, the hell king, is 934x978 with 61 frames.

Beautiful game you have here. Quite impressive. Haven't played much (just 1 level) but I must say the cutscenes and various background arts were amazing. Two things; one, when creating a character, don't make "Back" be the button to continue. Also, I had 1 enemy get stuck in a wall but I still was able to kill him, thankfully.

Thanks for the feedback. That character menu issue will definitely be corrected next version.
I'll try my best to get the zombies unstuck, but they love hiding in walls and trees and spinning.

Wow, you really put a lot of effort into this project! The graphics are very nice. The overall environment was spooky and well crafted - everything felt polished. I commend you on a job well done.

Updated to version 1.1
Fixed a handful of bugs and added widescreen support.
Also I changed the default lighting level. It was a bit too dark.
You can change the setting from the pause menu under options.

Download link is still the same as in the original post.

it surely looks great, and I tested the level editor, it seems very thorough and well done!
I had a major issue though, the resolution is different than mine and this causes everything interacting with the mouse to be offset in position.
it was very difficult just to navigate the menus let alone trying to play the whole game like that.

if you can add a script that changes your views to match the player's resolution I would glady re-download and play the game.

That's what the last update was supposed to do. The original version was 4:3 aspect ratio. The most recent update added widescreen support. The ratio I've been testing is 16:10. Others have complained about some graphics glitches and slowdowns I'm looking into as well. Checking it out now. Thanks for the feedback.

[edit]
I'm having trouble reproducing the bug. Could you tell me what your resolution is?

When the game first runs the views for all the rooms are adjusted to the player's aspect ratio:
room_set_view(rm_designer,1,0,0,0,(display_get_width()/display_get_height())*768,768,0,0,(display_get_width()/display_get_height())*768,768,room_width,room_height,-1,-1,obj_hud)

this game deserved much more attention!

found bug. playing with bishop.
afer pressing E, i start shooting like with automatic gun.
18 rounds go out in 2 seconds.
changed E to tesla.
sometimes i can use tesla with 2 second cooldow, sometimes it not works at all

pit lord shooting over the walls o_O

btw. all 3 classes look almost same (except one spell)
it would be nice if there would be like pure melee class or smth

bw. AtoneForSinOverture is damn nice soundtrack.
it even inspired me to new idea. THANKS!

---------------------

game completed.
last boss have one weakness so u can kill it almost wihtout getting any dmg :S

Hands down one of my favorite Top-Down Shooters. I'm not saying a "GM Top-Down Shooter", I'm saying one of my favorite "Top-Down" shooters. My only question is, what is the minimum supported screensize? Although I don't, many people still use 1024x768.

I completed it on normal and easy...Currently playing Hard level.

A really good game...but maybe too easy.

Note...It slowed down in some spots...but that's probably due to my underpowered PC.

Yep, that's why. The room view height is set to 768. Anything less is going to run into issues. I'll look into a fix. Thanks for letting me know.
