Thank you for the enthusiastic response to the upcoming release of GameMaker: Studio! We are very close to the official release which means we will be closing the Beta sign up soon. If you haven’t registered yet, we urge you to do so before it’s too late. Register at www.yoyogames.com/studio.

GameMaker:Studio is the perfect development tool for creating social and casual games that are "App Store" ready. As well as including all the game-specific functions you need, GameMaker:Studio also gives you the option to publish from that single source to:

Facebook and the web with HTML5;
iOS devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch;
Android phones and tablets;
and Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X computers
…all with one click.

I read somewhere that the system needs reactivating each month? Is this correct. My coding partner will not have access to the internet from his home very soon and was about to purchase as we believe this system seems to be the best for us going forward until we read this. (We have already published games and apps on the ios app store.)

Just wanted to ask as we both recently signed up to the beta to get a taste and like what we see but if the above is correct it would be a problem for him though not for myself.

Mike

The program does need to re-authorize itself every month but if you do not have an internet connection you can download a file every month and run it, so if you can go anywhere (coffee shop, fast food place, library, etc) and download the file then you can just run it on your PC to re-authorize it.

...will not have access to the internet from his home...

There will come a time when that statement will sound as odd as saying "not have access to a telephone". :tongue: Course, if you live in some remote back-woods place (like Canada or Australia) that may be common.

Anyway, it's good to know that YoYo gives customers a way to keep their licensed versions running, if they lose their home connection.

That's great to know. He has purchased based on the above info. I am late to reply as I was expecting an email notification from the forum that a reply had been made. Nothing came through.

Cheers

AT&T as well as others block emails sent by this and other forums. No way under their current setup to stop that.

When the final version of Game Maker: Studio comes out, I assume they'll email everyone who owns Game Maker HTML5 by the same email system they did to confirm sales and tell them its time for their free upgrade. I'd hate to have to come checking the forum every day to see if its done yet.

Question: What should I write to the "Company". Never works (unemployed) and not in any group I'm not. I am a loner.

That probably describes almost everyone that uses Game Maker.

Just leave it blank, or type in Independent.

Until they offer new payment methods, I may not get Studio for a long, long time it seems. Posted Image
