Not bad. Maybe a bit of texture on the background would be good and I don't think the random colours fit together well sometimes.
The window stays the same size and doesn't stretch in fullscreen mode which is really bad for me as I like to play games on my TV and having a teeny tiny window in the middle of the screen just doesn't cut it when I'm sitting decently far away!
Gameplay 22/30
Pretty fun. I like the difficulty. The whole first part of the game has no hats!!! I was wondering when they'd show up. Needs more hats and less levels in between the hats I think. The levels where you had to use a combination of hats were my favourite. At the boss that spits faces out at you, I got stuck in the floor after being shot out of the chomping face. I think I shot myself into the floor accidentally, but there was no way to restart the level and I didn't want to play through the whole game again!

Definitely needs something here!
TOTAL SCORE 33/60
Above average (just). It's fun to play but until a bit more effort is put into it, I don't think I'll want to play it again..

It might be related to the fact that I managed to shoot myself inside a block in a previous level:

Can you fix this? I really think the game is nice and would like to play it more=)

I was planning on adding a background to the game, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Same goes for the music, I just haven't had enough time to throw a few chiptunes together. As to the gameplay, I seem to have sort of written myself into a corner. I wan't to add a hat in sector one, but then I'd also need to edit a lot of the other levels in the game. Also I need to think of a hat which is interesting, but I can add into levels without much editing to the actual design. Also about the fullscreen thing, I don't like to use the default GM fullscreen, as the scaling really sinks the FPS, and looks

Well, you didn't miss much. The third boss is the last thing in the current version. I've never encountered the bug that you mentioned, but I'll look into it. I'll also try to fix the "Shooting yourself into a block" bug.

Graphics were simple but effective!
Adding some blippy cartoony sounds would do the game justice. Just don't add midi songs, those ruin games.

It took me a while to figure out that have to HOLD space to jump off the up/down stones. Even though the end of one level was supposed to teach this, I managed to get past this by just tapping space, so I thought this was how the system works. After all, you don't have to press jump key when wearing the helmet and bouncing off spikes. I had a bit of trouble figuring this out in another level (2nd last level, I think, the one where you go get the cannon hat and then go all the way to the beginning and have to jump on stones in the end).
Some things to mention:
*The screen appears to nudge a bit when you hit the ceiling with a jump. Not a big issue, but a little annoying.
*In the level where I encountered a bug last time, I triggered a new bug:

Jumping on the stone will make all the walking enemies get stuck at that spot (there are actually like 20 on top of each other at that spot).
