In some games I have seen (namely Rune Factory 3), there is sleeping and walking... and one for each of water, fire, earth, air... and one for axe, hammer, spear and dual blades... and one for farming, cooking, crafting... not sure if these will be of use to you as I don't know what actions are doable in your game. You can easily make a skill for each action you can ever do, so if you can do emotes, then there would be an emote skill, if you can dance, there's a dance skill.

Those are good but I'm looking for skills that can have perk trees inside of them. SO for blacksmithing, there could be a perk that gives you more and better materials while mining.

A skill that might be interesting is Channeling or Spiriting or Extraction - (This is a magical skill) - (Explained below).

Casting Move: Spirit Fire
What it does: You cast this spell upon an opponent are going to kill. (The move wears off after so much time say.... 60sec?)
Then when an enemy dies its soul (or energy core or whatever) is converted into a vessel of Light, Dark, or Neutral energy.

(Energy type is based on the enemy killed. So if you kill a light enemy you get light energy, or kill an dark enemy get dark energy, etc.)

Items Used: Spirit Vessel (Neutral), Light Vessel (Light), and Dark Vessel (Dark)
The energy (Or Spirit Charge) obtained from killing enemies with the Spirit Fire Mark is then placed within the Spirit Vessel. Once you have filled
your Spirit Vessel you can then use the Spirit Charges as an offensive, or defensive ability.

Obtainable Powers: Spirit, Light, or Dark Burst - Spirit, Light, or Dark Absorber
The Burst is a single max charged spell shot at an enemy. (Can change based on your level of skill in offense)
The Absorber is a single max charged damage reduction shield. (Can Change based on your level of skill in defense)

Anyways I'm not sure if this fits your style of game, but I hope you enjoy it!! :)
(And yes this skill can have a very large perk tree.)

If you want I can even make the perk trees.
(And draw out an example of them)
