so looking into eventually being able to upload games and apps to the Google Play marketplace, it is required to have a Google AdSense account. According to the terms of service, to display ads (though I believe you can just have the Adsense account for payment and skip ads, but for extra income you can display ads) you must meet certain criteria, which of course is screen size.

minimum screen size for a horizontal ad is 320x50.. although there are many other sizes.. my rooms at present are all 640x480 or thereabouts. I'm thinking that's fairly large ad.. What would be the optimal resolution for mobile phones, going forward, and out of curiousity, who else is going to use AdSense / Admob?

640x480 is the screen of the iPhone NOT Android phones.

Your game will look stretched as the aspect ratios are not the same.

The most common screen resolution on Android phones, currently and going forward are: 800x480, 960x540 and 1280x720. Make your game to fit these aspect ratios and it will look as good as it ever could on the respective phones :)

Display Ad with adsense but where ? in the game ? Because to have adsense we need to insert code, or GS Studio has to make it available with something no ?

GM:Studio has built in functions for displaying and hiding ads, in-game. But they are not ready for use quite yet, because it's still a Beta. Just leave space for wherever you want your ads for the future.
