Hey there!

I worked on this top-down shooter game a few years ago and now I decided to do some minor changes and upload as a work in progress!

Zombie Mode

This is a game where you play as Johnny, one of the few survivals from the big nuclear bomb crash in a little town. You have to protect your town by killing as many zombies as you can. Once every minute there is a ammunition drop and a health drop from the reinforcement. The health boxes are worth 10 hp and the ammunition boxes gives you 3 magazines each to the pistol and the AK-47. When youŽve killed 50 zombies you get the AK-47.

Features:

-2 weapons
-glock
-AK-47 (when you have 50+ kills)

-8-directional movement + mouse aiming
-endless of zombies
-highscore table

Controls:

W,A,S,D = move
left mousbutton = shoot
R = reload
1,2= change weapons
ESC = pause menu

Just had a quick play and downloaded the gmk (didn't use the mirror link).

Seems ok but you need to work on the bullets as they're pretty much invisible.  I'd also add a ring of light around the player as it's a little awkward sometimes gauging where you are exactly for aiming etc.

Other than that a reasonable start which is showing some good promise :)

Thank you for the comment!

I have no idea why the gmk file is uploaded...I uploaded the exe but somehow the links got mixed up.

I´ll put the things you said in mind for future updates!

Edit:
Fixed the link!

That's a nice start. Smooth movement, solid collisions and sliding along walls. Some ideas:

Make the boxes/pillars block your light. Tricky I know, but would add to the atmosphere
Do something when the player goes off screen or don't let them go out
Bigger bullets, as said above, and/or a custom mouse cursor to aim with, or hide the standard windows cursor. Either make not seeing the bullets and exactly where you are aiming part of the design, or make it really clear and obvious. Currently it's a bit of both - mouse cursor is exactly where I shoot, but I struggle to see the bullets.
An empty click when trying to shoot when out of ammo
If you shoot really quickly, the ammo counter does not keep up
Non-standard dialog boxes and high score
Player v monster collisions
Melee combat
Grenades
Dolphins
Health pickups
Floor traps
Battery life for your torch, and battery pickups
Forget about the dolphins

Good work so far, keep it going!

Thank you very much for your comment!

Very nice ideas you got there.
The bullets are really small, I donŽt know why but I thought it would be cool if you didnŽt see them. Clearly I was wrong. IŽll make them bigger and IŽll also make a custom aiming sight to the game!

ItŽs really tricky to make the pillars block the light but IŽll look into it as it would give a better feeling as you said.

IŽll also add a bunch of the other stuff you mentioned. Really nice suggestions!

And you will definitely be seeing some dolphins in the next update!

Thanks for the comment and make sure to look back in a few days for a new update!
