Hi,
I'm thinking about purchasing GameMaker and become a game developer.
Since I'm not familiar with this software I would like your advice, I have a game idea that I would like to create and a part of that game I would like to use google's API, is it possible to do that from GameMaker (I mean like google maps and etc.)? if so, what version?( HTML5?)
Thanks for the help,
Thinking to purchase GameMaker but need advice

I'm not sure but I think it is possible with HTML5. In HTML5 there is a plug in that lets you add html code to your game, so that should help with adding any html features. You should grab the GM lite version first to see how you like it, and if you do, I'd say getting the HTML5 option is the best (It lets you export to windows and to HTML5, and I think it also comes with GM Studio for free once that is released)

I haven't tried, but I expect you would be able to use the map API. However, you will need to write an extension to do this. Basically, if you can't use the Google Maps API outside of GameMaker, or if you aren't competent in javascript, then it's unlikely *you* will be able to implement the map API.
