YaruFPS features a simple 3D collision system where a "height" variable is introduced to take care of the Z axis business. The engine technically only handles blocks (with arbitrary collision masks for the XY-plane) but a cheap workaround allows slopes too. Can be used in commercial games, but credit to Yal is required.

More fun info about how to use it in the F1 help screen.

I don't have a 80 file of this, I made it in GM8.

Do this:

1) Download GM81 LITE
2) Open the file in GM81 Lite
3) Manually copy all code
4) Manually paste it in a GM80 file
5) Don't forget to copy the user-defined constants
6) Done!

I believe there is a converter out there. If you have time to search the interwebs for it.

Hmmm... come to think about it, I've heard about it. It should be called LateralGM and be made by IsmAvatar, who is a former administrator or something. But I'm pretty sure it's mainly a GM7-to-GM6 or GM5 converter.

Still, it's not that much work just copying a bunch of code blocks. I do it all the time when I start a new project and want to import stuff from previous games I've made.

Ah. Now when you mention it, I remember seeing that some time before, too!

Seems like I don't hang around in the Mod HQ enough. Hope YAL can forgive my ignorance.

Hey I really like this and would consider using it but am put off by all the bugs :/ Sometimes you fall through the floor for apparently no reason. I also found you can get stuck running up slopes when next to a wall (Fire Tears had the same issues) It’s a shame though because otherwise this is a great engine, the pixel art aesthetic (although unrelated to the engine itself) is quite inspiring as well.
