Hi, im making a game in which a city is under attack by waves of Planes.
I made 3 types of planes and already ran out of ideas...(i have more but not the right kind)
The thing is, i want to make the ships/planes evolve as the waves goes up, so i have a lot of ideas for future planes, but not much for present/recent past.

I dont want specific planes, although if you know one interesting you could name it, but more behaviours/weapons.
Heres what i have:

Bomber :plane that simply drops bomb
assault plane: plane that fires bullets
Strike ship: plane that shoot missiles
(future)planeX?:plane with Laser ray gun
planeX2:plane dropping EMP
I have other ideas that ill keep secret :)

(reading that, names might be a good idea too)

Id also take ideas on bosses, i dont really need those, but if anyone has great ideas, i just might use them.
Bosses are planes (or vehicules) that are a lot stronger than the average ship has great strike power and/or multiple weaponry (from chain gun,to rockets, like the ac130 from mw2)

Id like ideas on planes, what they do and perhaps names too.

This is one of the most exciting parts of designing games, why do you need our help?

I can understand asking for feedback on your ideas, but perhaps before coming to us for help you could have come up with a few more ideas? Coming up with ideas for enemies etc. is really fun if you can get into it, so give it another go!

Its true it is a very fun part and i just wanted to share the fun! /joke

I have a lot of ideas, i really do i just didnt want to spoil them so if anyone (here) plays the game they still get suprises / doesnt get stolen (i know, noob attitude).

But yeah, i might as well check if the concept is good.
So in my game you face planes trying to destroy your city
These planes comes in waves, each 10 waves with a boss. Thats why i wanted many planes ideas, because i thought they'd get old very fast. Then i realized may not need that many.

Each waves contains a fleet that can consist of up to 3 types of planes.

Im going for enemy levels (they upgrade after 20 waves)
such as:
assault plane (shoots bullet)------v2 (with evasive abiities) ------v3 (dual machine gun)
Bomber (drops bomb) -------- v2(carpet bomb)--------v3 (stealth added)
Kamikaze: (crashes on building) -----v2 (with evasive abilities) ------v3 (commercial plane)
Decoys: (cardboard decoy)------v2 (wooden)-------v3 (steel) (ok, maybe not these materials but yeah)

later aircrafts may have less upgrades
(and still more)

I really enjoy finding enemy (and gameplay) ideas but sometimes others just have ideas that is obvious to them but i would never have thought of.
The main reason i posted was because i couldn't find weak (beginning) plane ideas, i went straight to thinking about the harder, stronger air crafts.

I think the 4 i pointed + the missile one in the first post should do the job. (of weak beginning enemies)

So how does that look for a game plan? does it look good, have any suggestion? and ill still take aircraft idea, if you have any.

Bringing this back up!
I can mostly think of upgrades of the types of planes I already have, not new ones.
bullet shooters
bomb droppers
missiles shooter
kamikaze

is what I have, sure I have thought of plenty of ways to make much out of those, but I dont feel like it cuts it.
So its really about modern weapons Is that all there is today? cant seem to find more...

for future/sci-fi stuff im more equipped, it really is fun to think of all that, its the more realistic stuff im not too good at thinking about.(maybe cause thats all there really is...)

If you can think of future stuff feel free to suggest also.
