Drawing Models with Priority

Hey, guys!

I'm making a First-Person Hack & Slash game, similar to the Elder Scrolls series (Oblivion and Skyrim).

Problem: The sword is in view, but when you walk near objects, it will phase through them(As expected).
I'm wondering if it's possible to always have the sword on top. So even if it's inside another model, it will be drawn on top, as if it isn't.

Now, if you could see the whole sword here, even through it's obviously intersecting the wall, I'd be good! :D
