Description: I am making a scrolling shooter, and I need some backgrounds. There will be five worlds, and one boss level.I need a different background for each world, and a special one for the boss level. The first one should be a nice sunny landscape, with rolling hills, and a few sparse clouds. The second one should be a tundra, with snow stretching as far as the eye can see. The third is a rocky landscape with red, sun-blasted rock formed into spires and canyons of stone. The fourth is a volcano with ash filled sky and smoke billowing from the crater, and the fifth is a place with indigo mountains and spires, and a night sky full of stars and a full moon. The boss level should be an apocalyptic city, with smashed buildings, lava everywhere, a blood-red sky, and huge cracks in the ground.

Okay: I'm gonna post a list of the backgrounds that have already been done, so you don't have to scroll through the whole topic.

Rolling Hills background: DONE!
Tundra background: DONE!
Desert background: DONE!
Volcano background: Not done yet...
Indigo mountains background: Not done yet...
Apocalyptic city background: Not done yet...

Size: Each background has to be very big (5000 2,500 w by 480 high), and has to be able to loop.
Format: PNG
2d or 3d: 2d background
Facing direction or pose: Does not apply
Style: Sort of gradient-y with very slightly blurred edges and a thin outline. Like this: Posted Image
(Thanks to Jster391 for he awesome sprte)
Animated: No.
Paid: No, sorry.
Link to game: Not done yet, or even in Beta. Just a basic engine ATM

I know it's a big request, but I would really appreciate it, and I would give you credit of course.

EDIT: Oh crap. I misread the room size for my room. The backgrounds have to be 5000 2,500 w instead of 2000. (The actual room width is 15,000, but I can make it loop around)'

Hmmm... It's alright, but the hills are too steep, and the tree is..........yeah. I'd also like the hills to be a bit more in the distance, and slightly darker.

Wow that looks awesome! If you can, it'd be nice to make the ground slightly redder, but other then that, it's awesome. It's only 5,000 because the rooms are 15,000 wide, and I can't ask for something that enormous.

Sorry
I got scared off by the size requirements. 5000x480 takes way too long to detail.

Hmm.... I'll think of a way to make it shorter.

EDIT: Okay, I've managed to make it look good at 2,500 * 480. Is that small enough? The first post has been edited accordingly.

Your dimensions are still REALLY large, and gradient is frowned upon in graphics (lol), I really want to attempt something like what Jake is doing, a sort of pixelated painting style, but your dimensions are too massive, you won't get high quality images with that size, I suggest you resize the rest of your game accordingly. I'll attempt something though.

It looks good, but, as stated earlier, it doesn't have to be 5000 anymore, just 2500. But 5000 will still work, and it looks pretty nice! :)
