Once you purchased the standard edition of Game Maker (not sure if you can use the lite version) and develop your game you can basically publish your game and if it gets good ratings, reviews, the yoyo games staff will eventually take notice it and contact you about publishing to Iphone/Android. As of now the studio edition (hasn't released yet) will allow you to fully export to the Android operating system.

What? Can't we do a Android game? I understand it:
We publish a game and if Yoyo want they publish it for Android. We can't publish a Android game. İs it true?

From GM8.1, not yet. Not ever, I assume. From GM Studio, most certainly.

Yes,you still can create an android game in game maker. In Game Maker 8.1 you can fully develop an android game, but you cannot export to an android to device directly from Game Maker standard edition, the studio edition you will be able to directly export to android.

If you want to publish an android game:
1. finish your game.
2. Publish your game.
3. Upload to yoyo games.
4. wait for good reviews and tons of downloads.
5. yoyo games staff contacts you asking if you want to publish to android.
6. you say yes, i want to publish to android. Then that process starts.

Hope you understand better.

Well I purchased Gamemaker HTML5 and would like to publish some games for my Android device. Would it be the same process as explained above where you would have to see if there are a lot of ratings and then yoyo games could publish it to your android device?

It would be the same process with HTML 5. Publish to the yoyo games site. If you haven't had the chance to check out "Designing Successful iPhone and Android Games with GameMaker" I would definitely give it a read, really useful information.

Ok thanks! I'll check that out. By the way, I think I forgot to ask this but, is there a way to just test it on your android device? I ask this because I would like to try out mobile features such as multitouch and accelerometer... But then again I guess all of that will become available on the Studio version. Is the release date for the Studio version still not released?

What about just testing your game on an android device? Is there no way to do that either I guess?

The only release date given for the studio edition is Quarter 1 of 2012 and we're still in the 1st quarter. As far as testing, I'm not sure if there is a way or not. I think that the staff of yoyo games will be able to tell you that once the development for the android begins for your game. You can always shoot them an e-mail or something, or if one of them happens to reply to this, I'm sure they'll be able to answer that further.

GameMaker:Studio lets your download to the device (iOS or Android) for testing and development. It's really, REALLY easy to work with (and is MOST awesome  )

It'll be out soon......ish

Such a tease lol. I just hope it's out before May (It would get me extra marks in two of my final year university units. Seriously, if GMS comes out before May, I can get extra marks in my units. So work extra hard YoYoGames :P)

I am looking incredibly forward to it personally

How goes the preparation for the Game Convention? Hope it's all going well. (My god, I actually have to start taking part in them eventually *shudders* lol)

Go to GDC if you're in the US, regardless of how crappy big game devs may think your game is, its the simple fact that you can start a project and finish it. That is one thing they like to see

I hail from the land of the United Kingdom. And at one time was going to move to Scotland to sign up to a games dev course there. Still if our game makes enough money, maybe we will in the future!
