YoYo Games has been nominated for 3 categories in the Pocket Gamer 2012 Awards!

These are the games they feel represent the finest examples of pocket gaming from the past 12 months – anything that got reviewed on Pocket Gamer between January 1st and December 31st, 2011, qualifies.

Android Game of the year with Mr Karoshi

PG's review Darker than a bar of Bourneville, this is a uniquely twisted platform puzzles that sparks your synapses while tickling your funny bone 9/10 Gold Award

Xperia Game of the year with They Need To Be Fed

PG's review A wonderful platform experience, beefed up with new levels and given extra clout by the Xperia Play's slide out controller, They Need To Be Fed needs to be played 9/10

Congratulations to Jesse Venbrux who created both these games!

Best publisher

Based on Publishing frequency, quality and variety of releases, format support, and Qualityindex.com score.

PG have entered the judging phase of the process and shall announce the winners at a special event held during GDC week in early March (more details to come). We're pretty chuffed to be nominated against some pretty strong competition in the shortlist so wish us luck!

Great to see these games nominated. And like you said, the competition looks pretty tough. So good luck to Jesse. Hope he wins.

btw, scotay... your post needs some punctuation. Especially "PG's review Darker than a bar of Bourneville, this is a uniquely twisted platform puzzles that sparks your synapses while tickling your funny bone 9/10 Gold Award".

At first, I had no idea what this meant. Then I realized you were quoting Paul Devlin's review, and also Harry Slater's review, both from the Pocket Gamer website. They're both very favorable.

This is great news; even the exposure of being nominated should lead to greater awareness of the great job you guys (and gals) do. However, must agree with chance, a bit of formatting and punctuation would have prevented me from thinking for a moment that the PG reviewer was called "Darker"...

The original post on the blog is formatted with links added, so it may read different when it is cut and pasted onto here. We prefer people to go and read the blog but it still gives a chance for members to post comments here.
