Hi,

Somehow when I run any GM executable, it takes atleast 5 seconds, before it shows a loading screen.
When I check how much memory the game is consuming while *loading* it stays at 100kb.
When the loading screen appears (which should normally happen instantly) it rises to the normal amount.

Also, when I run a game (F5), Game Maker completely freezes until the loading screen appears.

Already tried re-installing GM twice, but it didn't make any difference.

My specs:
Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)
AMD Athlon II X4 640 @ 3.00GHz
4GB RAM
GM 8.1.141 with a registered licence

Help please, otherwise I will never make a chance in the CGC :/

Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family
3072MB (roughly 3GB) RAM
GM 8.1.141 with a registered licence

I have the same problem. Maybe they might fix it later. Same windows 7 with 2 gb RAM. I tried "execute as windows xp" but the screen turns off for 3 secs and then starts loading.

Did you post this issue into bug tracker? If you want it to be fixed, and did not yet, you probably should - as there is no warranty that your topic at community will be read by appropriate developer to fix it.

I'm using Windows Vista 32-bit and have the very same problem, but for me it takes 15 or 20 seconds rather than 5.

Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bits. GM 8.1 works like a jewel. I own a licenced copy of the software.

I tested a cracked version of GM8 and it crashed, like a week ago. Seems like a security issue :P. I'm sure the problem is not the software, it's the crack.

Both my GM8.1 and my Vista are legally purchased versions - no crack. Has someone made that bug report yet?
Besides, we're not talking about Game Maker crashing. Loading the game is just delayed, which can be annoying when testing and fine tuning.
