Anyone know who's winning at the moment?

Fairly certain it's you. ^_^

Seriously?

Well you have five first place votes and a whole bunch of 2nd through 5th votes.

I don't think anyone else has more than 3 first place votes.

Letting you win was the only way we knew of taking you out of the next competition. ;)

Well, we have an update to Julius Dragonslayer ( i know the voting isn't officially over yet, but I don't think it much matters at this point, no one can really change their votes, but I'm just gonna be ultra busy the next few days so i'm releasing it now) Check it out if you haven't yet ;D or were frustrated the first time (we could use the feedback XD)
Check out the details here:
http://spaceblasterx...ulius-town.html

But go check out the sandbox link, it should be updated.
Here:
http://sandbox.yoyog...us-dragonslayer

So many fixes, and changes if you haven't tried out JDragonslayer yet, now is a good time to test out the game play, and if you have and were a little confused or frustrated, then it should be a lot clearer on what to do.

If you can get the scripts: Jump Dash and Fireball, then you've finished what we have so far as content (at least you got all the main stuff). There are lots of hidden paths and secrets in these 4 levels too so try to find some and see what stuff you can get ;D

Enjoy! The game play is way better, dying is less frustrating and you have lives now! Cheers!

There....
This took a lot longer than I had expected, but the compilation is now finished! I managed to press it down to about 10 minutes, giving the games a few seconds of fame each.

EDIT:
Oh darn, something happened to my recording of Shadow Runner before uploading. It didn't get into the final video. I'll fix it as soon as possible

Wow, I loved that video... That should definitely be put in the OP of the next Jam, it would be perfect.

The video is kinda lacking. It doesn't really show the most action or most important part of the games that I saw in there, was pretty slow paced, plus you played really horribly in my game, but I had already formed my opinion before I scrolled through the video to find it.
EDIT: On top of those issues I had with it, there's also no way to tell which game is which, IE to someone who hasn't played every single game they won't know which games are which. Even to someone who has, they still might not remember which game is which. Subtitles would've helped.

Were you in a good mood before watching the video?

I mean - I thought my game looked pretty slow paced too, and I think it seemed a bit dull put beside the faster paced games - but I don't really think the video can be blamed for that.

Also - as for him playing horribly - having looked at raocow's LP of it, the Mirrors section wasn't exactly easy.

EDIT: as for your edit - I agree with you, but it's not that big of a deal since one could simply search the submission topic for a screen shot that looked familiar - and if that failed, they could just ask.

The editing and portions of the video showed could've been better is what I'm saying. Like, for the disillusion portion, that game is basically going to win the Jam. All we see is him walking forward and slicing one enemy. It's not exactly the most exciting thing.

As for my game, he could've ripped footage from my trailer. xD

EDIT: I was watching muted. Now after rewatching a portion, I do have to say the music choice is quite nice.

Thanks for nice comments guys :D

The video is kinda lacking.

In a bad mood today? For your information I played each game for as long as I felt I had to. Some of the games I couldn't figure out at all, and others had a wall of text in the help file with no easy to find control explanations. I played your game for 10 minutes, couldn't beat the level I fast-forwarded. The player just wouldn't double jump when I needed it.

If anyone feels the video represents their game in a bad way you're free to record it yourself and send it to me by tomorrow

Is that all you got out of my post? "The video is kinda lacking." Like, I put reasons in there. Constructive criticism that you're ignoring.

I actually thought the Disillusion portion was quite good, what else could he have shown? The game wasn't exactly packed with high octane action.

As for my game, he could've ripped footage from my trailer. xD

lol, he could have replaced my game with a scene from The Matrix - but I don't think that actually counts as my game.

Are you somehow saying my trailer includes footage not from my game..? It's all my game, your analogy is heavily flawed.

No, I didn't mean it that way - I was just thinking of the fact that I used Chateau as the trailer for my game last jam... Yeh, it was a pretty bad analogy. :P

Regardless, I appreciate all the effort TheSnidr. I don't think the video is as good as it could have been, but it obviously took a lot of time and effort to make, so I applaud you.
