Oh well... that sure helps get it in the right direction.

Anyway, I know SOPA is dead but it's alternatives still mean death for online businesses like YoYoGames. With the amount of copyright breaking fangames made with Game Maker, YYG could be in trouble.

I'm sorry for bursting your bubble, but we have a larger problem than SOPA and PIPA now... In the shadow, while SOPA was being openly opposed, a bill named ACTA has been taken up. ACTA is way, WAY worse than SOPA and PIPA, as it affects absolutely everything, even real life trading, medicine, food, internet restrictions. And it's not just closing sites they're allowed to do now, they can send you to jail for doing close to nothing http://youtu.be/citzRjwk-sQ

and here's the worst part, it was just signed by the EU today http://www.mofa.go.j...y/acta1201.html

Say hello to the new world :C

Edit: a petition has been made against it, if anyone wishes to sign, they should go ahead and do so http://www.avaaz.org...he_internet/?fp (I would also love them forever and ever, if that means anything :3 )

Yes, I just saw that. Glad that it's getting noticed, we really can't have something like this. When I saw it, my immediate reaction was "This is why we can't have nice things! :C"

ACTA is the newest internet threat. Maybe SOPA PIPA was part of a distraction while they discussed this behind our backs.

This "legal document" is being signed, thought up and PASSED by democractially UNELECTED Representatives! Our government and over 39 other ones have been working on ACTA for the past 3 years!!

"ACTA is the abbreviation for the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement. ACTA is an international agreement to establish new standards on enforcing intellectual property rights. ACTA would create a separate governing body outside of existing international organizations, including WTO (World Trade Organization), WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and the UN (United Nations).

Though the bulk of the negotiations and resulting documents have been kept secret with virtually no transparency, it is clear from both the leaked and released statements and documents that ACTA has the potential to infringe upon privacy, civil liberties, legitimate commerce, innovation and freedom on the internet."

WHAT DO WE DO WHAT DO WE DO!?!!??!?!

Yeah, ACTA is really bad. But as far as I can see, there's going to be a vote about it this summer (my guess is because certain politicians wants to keep their jobs, lol) and it is going to be smashed to bits. Overnight, the petition I linked has gotten over 300000 signatures. In ONE night.

Yes, this new law allows parents to request records of their underage children's browsing habits.

Your mum is going to be very disappointed, when she finds out where you've been.
