Greetings from Norway.
After playing through the entire Myst series (best games eva!) I was inspired to make a little escape the room game. To those of you unfamilar with Escape the room it's a genre of point-and-click games where you solve puzzles to escape an enclosed area. Often you'll have to search around and look for clues or items.

I made the scenes in Google Sketchup with the V-Ray plugin for lighting, then welded them together with game maker.
Tell me what you think? Also give me some feedback on the difficulty; because it's not supposed to be very easy.

Don't be supprised if it takes a minute to load

Instructions:
-Pick up items by clicking on them.
-To look at items you've picked up click on them in the inventory.
-To use them drop it onto whatever you want to use it on. (Drag the key onto the lock).



I'll add some music and sound effects later.

It's hard! I just don't know where to begin! There seems to be multiple puzzles all starting at the same time?

In regard to my level of skill in these sorts of game, I beat the Afro Ninja escape the.. series without help(although some of those took some time!)

Don't give any hints (for me, anyway) I may get back to this when I get time. First impressions are that there seems to be multiple puzzles to solve instantly, and it's a bit overwhelming.

Good work on the graphics, btw.

i enjoyed it a lot, and yes it was hard. I was hoping that when I finished it there was more than a simple dialog box at the end stating I had won. A little anticlimactic.

I finished! Typo at the end by the way, you had beacuse, it should be because. I'll assume you updated, because I didn't get any ol' lame dialogue box. :D

The last puzzle had me confused. I got 'share' and was left quite puzzled for some time!

What 3d rendering program did you use? It looks really good.

Thank you . I make the models in Google Sketchup, and then I render using V-Ray. You install it as a plugin. You can add lights, reflections and change 'camera' settings. (As if you were using a real camera). There's a 30-day free trial if you want to try it.

Tried it out! I got the ice cube and the paper and then punched the paper and now I am stuck! Too tough for me, but still a good game. Graphics are nice. Sketchup can do some amazing things.
