I had the full version for PC but for christmas I got a Mac. Do i have to buy the full thing again or can i use the same license key?

That stinks
but i read that you can open GM4mac files n game maker8.1. I have that on a really old laptop which I can use to create stand alone games.

Yes, you can open GM for Mac games in GM8.1. But the reverse is not true.

It's ok, just buy GM HTML5 and you won't have any issues between platforms

There is a program called Lateral GM. This can convert GM7 or 8.0 files to GM6. If you have a GM8.0 file, you can use this to convert the file to a GM6 file, which can then be read in in GM for Mac. I have heard other people have said LGM can convert from 8.1, but I haven't had any luck doing this. There is, however, a program in the GM creations that can convert GM8.1 files to GM8.0. You then need to open it in GM8 and reset the font character range so that it doesn't crash LGM.
Can't wait for GM9 for Mac...
