I get the same thing.

(edit) Okay, I read the support forum and it says to select a theme in the preferences menu and then restart. Mine works now.

Yeah, sorry about that. Scott has been beaten to death for the offence.

We'll try and get another update out tomorrow to fix this.... and a few other issues of course.

Here is a fix for you.

- Start GM.
- File -> Preferences.
- Select a theme, click Ok.
- Restart GM.

That should fix the problem.

Mine is having similar issues and I can't resolve them with the steps above. When opening older versions of a Game I am working on, it will give me the "invalid pointer opertaion" and when I open the most recent version it crashes saying that all of my declared global variables don't exist. Strange; cant seem to come up with a fix! Super frustrating.

I loaded a copy of an old project on Studio, got errors. Updated latest HTML5 update, ran original copy and got these:

Error : gml_Script___tr_push_left(1) : argument naming error, 4 arguments but no reference found to argument3
Compiling - gml_Script___tr_push_right
Error : gml_Script___tr_push_right(1) : argument naming error, 4 arguments but no reference found to argument3
Compiling - gml_Script___tr_push_top
Error : gml_Script___tr_push_top(1) : argument naming error, 4 arguments but no reference found to argument2
Compiling - gml_Script___tr_push_bottom
Error : gml_Script___tr_push_bottom(1) : argument naming error, 4 arguments but no reference found to argument2

and these:

Error : gml_Script___tr_blend(1) : argument naming error, 3 arguments but no reference found to argument2
Compiling - gml_Script___tr_fade_in
Error : gml_Script___tr_fade_in(1) : argument naming error, 2 arguments but no reference found to argument0
Compiling - gml_Script___tr_fade_out
Error : gml_Script___tr_fade_out(1) : argument naming error, 2 arguments but no reference found to argument1
Compiling - gml_Script___tr_fade_outin
Error : gml_Script___tr_fade_outin(1) : argument naming error, 3 arguments but no reference found to argument2

These are the same errors in Studio.

By the way, where is the Studio Closed Beta forum? DO we just do bug reports?

The theme selection seems to stay a consistent source of errors in GM:HTML5 ><

Guys, please realise that older versions of GM games will NOT WORK on Studio (nor Html5) without modification. For html5 it's because a lot of the functions available to windows, arenīt in Javascript, and for Studio itīs the same PLUS the fact that it now uses a C++ runner and not the old Delphi one. So, projects that were created in old versions of GM just will not work straight away.

Since the very inception of HTML5 this has been stated over and over again, ad nauseum (or should I say add nausea). The same is true for Studio and we've already been warned that GM9 will introduce incompatibilities on a scale we've never seen. Expect a lot of complaints about GM9 not working properly.

People just don't hear.
