hi,

i'm working with a friend on recreating
a lot of the early 80's arcade classics..

now, a lot have been done already here
on the forums, and some haven't..

we're still new at this, but have been
making games with the lite version for
a few months now..

please enjoy the games and code,
and leave comments if you like them..

a lot of the games are nearly complete,
but not quite.. so feel free to finish them
or add to it..

here's a basic version of RBRpacman with a few tweaks
from the arcade. some more ghosts, and music..
no code for this one...

Latest fixes:

0) Got rid of that extra extra-man sprite (left over code).
1) Only one fruit at a time!!! (this took forever)
2) Better (though not accurate) timing on ghosts leaving home.
3) Better (also inaccurate) timing on ghosts being scared (about 4 flashes).
4) New useless enegerizers on level 17. (Ghosts are encouraged to change direction.)
5) infinite boards but with intermissions still.

VERY USEFUL: Press "S" key to go to next room. Careful pressing "S" on flashing screens... may end game.

This is playable but like a zoomed mspacman... you could play it forever.

Energizers still work (but weak) after board21 because after baord17 we're really going back to board10. This is just to see how the boards hold up after about 100.

The skinny "1" digit is built into the font arcadepix which is different then the original pac-font which had a one pixel wide blank column included with its "1".

RBR minesweeper, based on the windows game.
Use a mouse to click on the spots. the numbers
indicate if there is a mine near the spot.

the game ends when you click on a mine.

here is a recreation of
night driver from the atari 2600
with code:
==========================
Posted Image

download : night driver 2600
=======================
night driver 2600

here is a newer version called twilight racer
using some pole position sprites:
========================
1) Increased the overall game speed.
2) Added some grass and gray rectangles as a temp road. (Now the background scrolling so fast doesn't look so weird.)
3) More cars with different speeds, colors, timing, and paths.
4) More points for every pylon on the side of the road you pass, for every car and even for the pavement.
5) Superior Handling! Drives very nice now.

All it needs now:
1) Scenery (more than cheap houses and trees).
2) Three times more cars.
3) An accelerator and brake system. (This would include having other cars slow down or speed up in relation to the player.)
4) Count down timer. (Seconds left to play and how much reward you get per level.)
5) More sounds.

Mostly cosmetic stuff only the speed system and additional cars will really effect the game play.

Hmmm:
1) Maybe a radar like most race games have which means...
2) A predefined track.

I think I'm done with it... If you play it you should be able to make to the next level 5999+ and blow my score away. I got to one really bad spot near the end of my high score where three cars at once hogged the road

FYI: Each crash costs 30 lives. Hitting the pylons on the side cost one life each and bounce you back a bit. You start with 3000 lives and lose one life each step. Life Loss Rate is 45 per second on level 1; 60 on level 2; 75 on level 3 and 90 lives per second on level 4.
Every 2000 points you get an extra 1800 lives.

Most of the code is in the control object this time.

ok, a new year..

finally time to start posting some
real, full, more playable and nearly
finished games..

first up : RBR joust : version 14
=============================================
this is a close, but not quite version that's like the arcade
one with some interesting additions..
----------------------------------------------------------

Posted Image
Posted Image

----------------------------------------------------------
FIXED:
1) Fixed Shadowlords appearing in midair on waves 38 and 39.
2) Fixed word overlap on wave 61.
3) Added wave 65.
4) Added platforms to wave 61 so player won't fall off screen.
5) Sped up the shadowlords. (They feel much better, took three hours testing and tweaking) Not so sticky either.
6) Fixed fading platforms on wave 61.
7) FINALLY added pterodactyl waves!

SPECIAL FEATURES!!!
1) Easter Eggs - Sometimes you will get extra eggs on the egg waves.
2) Blue Knight - Hit the '2' key to become Blue Knight.
Blue Knight CANNOT pick up men hatched from eggs.
Blue Knight can turn left or right easier than Yellow Knight.
Blue Knight is very good at destroying Pterodactyls!
Press the '1' key to become Yellow Knight again. If Blue Knight dies Yellow Knight will respawn. You must press '2' again to summon him.
3) F11 level skip! So you can play only the waves you want.
4) Invisible? Lava Trolls. They patrol the lava helping the knights by holding enemies.

Big recommendations:
1)Remove ALL gravity effects and just use normal relative speeds.
2) Test for enemies before respawning a player.

another classic game, one of my favorites,
is the puzzle game, qbert..
with great sound effects, and eye catching
graphics.. it was a tough game..

and now an even harder version:
RBR qbert..

==============================
eatures
--------
-extra men for advancing , one at 7500, and every 14000
-increasing difficulty of levels, INCLUDING THE EXTRA HARD LEVEL X
-skip levels by pressing F11
-classic gameplay

Posted Image
Posted Image

notes:
=====
1) Increased Ugg's appearance delay.
2) Increased Wrongway's appearance delay.
3) Increased Slick's appearance delay.
4) Increased Sam's appearance delay.
5) Increased first red ball's appearance delay.
6) Increased first purple ball's appearance delay.
7) Decreased green ball's appearance delay.

I made it to Level 2 Round 4 and doubled my score. The hard part is waiting before you jump... I die a lot trying to out race Coily to a square.

You should be able to play this new one indefinitely eventually. Have you tried just running around on level 1 avoiding coily? Not easy.

Beating the X levels will start it over at Level 1 Round 1 but with Sam, Slick, Ugg, and Wrongway and 5000 point bonuses.

Not a fan of any of these games - the recreation I can tell are pretty good, though.
So many of these games on game maker, that most people will not be so interested.
You should recreate games, but throw something new in to switch it up.
Overall pretty good.
- Have a heck of a day!

here's one of our latest creations..

been playing around with it the last 2 weeks..

it's a lesser known pac-game... junior pac-man..

it's probably one of the hardest maze games out there,
with 7 tough mazes to go through...
=====================================
RBR junior pac-man (4 versions)

all the mazes

here's some shots of the mazes in progress,
working:

features:
========================
TURBO mode to make it faster
add 2 extra men to help out
4 different ghost AI
different versions of speeds - normal/faster, and 1 with an arcade viewport

arcade sounds
UNLIMITED MAZES - NO KILLSCREEN
follows arcade maze sequences/colors - including boards with non-blinking energizers,
so it stays HARD!

ok, next up... RBR Super pac-man..

another cool sequel in the pac-game series..

this time it's a little more puzzle like..

you have to eat keys.. to open doors (not shown yet,
still working on it!)..

and instead of dots, all kinds of prize symbols and bonuses...

this time, there is a SUPER energizer, which turns you into
SUPER pac-man, that goes super fast, goes through doors
without keys... and is SUPER!

here's some early screens:

I like classic games...Keep up the good work.

I never saw a Q-BERT game on YoYogames before....Cool!

Note: I'm glad you're moving your games to MediaFire...MegaUpload seems like crap.

Update: Just downloaded Ms Pacman from MediaFire...and it didn't work for me. :wacko:

Maybe you should just upload your games to YoYogames.com...
Then I could post links to them on my game site (See my signature).

Negative 1...
I'd like to play some of your games...but it's hard to download / open them. A lot of the links seem to be broken...I did download Ms.Pacman...but windows wasn't able to open a .rar file...and I didn't feel like searching online to figure out how to do that.

Ever think of making your own website and posting your games there...with files that are easier to open?

Note: Weebly.com and Webs.com seem to offer quick easy (FREE) ways to do this.
