Ok, but what is the point of me making the first request exactly the same as the link? If I do that, I would just be copying someone else's work, besides there would be no point because you might as well just use that song you asked me to make it like.

But add more instruments and whatever to make it fit into a snowy level theme.

Like you know in World 1 of Super Mario Bros it has the normal theme? Then in like world 3 it has the same music but its in a snowy theme. Same music but some instruments are different..

I don't have a Wii. I thought you were talking about NSMB for the DS (why I have a DS at age 17 I don't know).

Yeah I have the DS version too, and it is world 5 on that.

A!ex: Ugh, sorry. I can't manage to do your first piece because making a song sound exactly the same as another song isn't easy, you know. Considering the fact that I have a completely different set of instruments to ih8sanandreas, here is what I have got to (and I have reached a point where I cannot continue any further): http://db.tt/9Ivs7edc

Sorry for the inconvenience.

EDIT: Finished with your second piece though. Dark Mysterious Dangerous Thingy Ugh I Can't be Bothered Naming This

EDIT 2: PizWiz: When Life Gives You Lemons, Make Orange Juice and Leave the World Wondering How You Did it
The first 30 seconds or so is just C chords :D

Hi icymx, I'm an Australian developer looking for music for my game, and I stumbled upon your thread. Below are my specifications:

Mood: Classical (kind of), Mysterious
Length: Around 1.5 to 2 mins
Speed: Slowish
Looped: If it wouldn't be too much of an issue for you would you be able to do two versions, one loopable and one with an ending, if not loopable will do.
Description of game style: My game is a puzzle platformer, with a huge emphasis on the art style of the game I have some links below so you can get an idea of the game (but I dont want the music to be as dark as the game seems to be, more lighthearted but not happy or sad).
Preferred format: WAV would be what I need but if you could also do an MP3 that would be appreciated.

Pictures of my game to give you a better idea of the mood:

If you can finish this in around the next two days it will be appreciated but upto friday is ok (I'd like it pretty soon).

This is the music I am currently using to give you a better idea of the style.

http://incompetech.com/m/c/royalty-free/index.html?keywords=frost+waltz&Search=Search

(Frost Waltz - Alternate)

I'd like similar instruments (but not the glockenspiel, just strings and maybe piano)
Obviously not a similar melody.

Sorry for the long post and the really exact specifications, but I think you can do a good job of this.

Thanks in Advance!

Sounds good. I will probably have these done by Wednesday/Thursday. I listened to the song you are currently using, you would like basically a song with a very similar feel to that, am I correct? I look forward to arranging this.

EDIT: If I give you a wav then you could easily convert it to mp3, or vice versa. Therefore there is no need for me to give you both formats.

Oh ok, I'll convert it to MP3 myself. Yeah, I'm looking for a song that feels similar. Thursday sounds good, I look forward to see what you can do with this.

Thanks,

A!ex: I'm glad you like it, will try to have the other songs done by Friday. Am I right in assuming that you are basically asking me to make a happy song like ih8sanandreas' song (but differently this time), and then make another song off of that?

PizWiz: Thanks
BTW, I'll have it without the flavouring, if you don't mind.

Hi icymx, how's the composition going? I was wondering if you could give me a status report of some kind on your progress. Is it finished/almost finished, when do you think it'll be finished by? And would you be able to post the music you've done so far (so I can give you feedback which will make it easier for you than finishing it, then needing to edit the whole thing)?

Thanks,
SP202

This is REALLY good icymx, (and this is coming from someone who's played the piano for about 3 years and the violin for about 2) you are a very talented composer, but I would like to give you some feedback. Would you be able to make a few changes, I would really appreciate it if you could. There are some parts where a minor note is played which doesnt fit in with the majors (around the beginning and middle of the song) if you could change them to major or something that blends in with the rest, that would be appreciated. And the end is quite good but it's a bit too dark, would you able to make it more lighthearted like the rest of the piece? And would you be able to send me a WAV file instead of a MP3 next time?

Thanks,
SP202

Oh, sure! About the file format, I practically always save as mp3 so I did it without even thinking about it e.e

I'm glad you like the piece, and I am happy to make some changes (although, I will either make these changes really soon or in over a week's time, sorry). Here is what my timetable looks like:

Thursday 10th: School, piano lesson, homework, maybe some composition.
Friday 11th: School, homework, hopefully nothing else so I can focus on your piece.
Saturday: Homework, homework, more homework o.O, I have a project due soon :(
Sunday: Completely unavailable :(
Monday: School, homework, studying for exams
Tuesday-Thursday: Some exams :verymad:
Friday: OMG FRIDAY! :o

EDIT:
A!ex: City of Joy
This sounds really happy, maybe too happy :P
City of Joy - Snow
This uses a completely different melody, but the exact same structure to the first piece.

SP202: The music has been updated in my Dropbox, which means that the old links will link to the new files. They are still mp3s, however, so I suggest a program such as Switch to convert them.

Hi icymx, sorry I didn't reply earlier and I don't mean to be rude but are you sure you updated the songs because the two different sets of files seem to sound the same, would you be able to double check for me? I know it's a busy week for you but I would really appreciate if you could fix up the songs by the end of friday. If that's not possible then next friday will do (or earlier if you can). Sorry if I sounded rude.

Thanks,
SP202
