Umm... Just to let you know, I don't think you're aloud to double post. Let alone triple post. I mean you don't have to constantly post what you're doing and I don't think you need to constantly update what you're doing etc. Just a simple "I will finish this piece by so and so" is sufficient as long as the requester knows that you're working on it on that due date. Also, time spent on writing up posts could be easily spent on working on the pieces. Typing things distracts your attention to compose and eventually as the time accumulates, if you were to continue do this, the longer it will take to finish a piece. Though since composers have different mindsets on how they deal with things, maybe you're not the type of person who would get distracted or something. Just a little comment about what you're doing here but nothing harsh  Just keep composing and giving people the content. :turned:

Thanks for your advice Evano, but here is why I am doing what I am doing:

Umm... Just to let you know, I don't think you're aloud to double post. Let alone triple post.

For this, I thank you. There was nothing about it in the Sound and Music forum rules, but on the general GMC rules there is, forgive me :'(

I understand that for most people, this is very true. But I'm different - sometimes I do not have access to the computer I compose on, so I use my phone to update the topic while I'm waiting. So that is why a lot of time is spent updating the topic.

I am the sort of person who likes to multitask, if you see my computer when I'm using it you will see about 50 windows open...
Besides, it's the holidays so I have heaps of time available to compose, so there shouldn't be a problem :D

Thanks for taking the time to inform me of this :)

Ah yes...
About the front page.
Well, Evano suggested I stop wasting my time updating it so now I'm just going to remove the works in progress and the finished projects part...
I will keep updating the status though.

Thanks for your comment ^_^
Your piece has been started and is about 10-20% complete. I was also wondering, the closest premade sound I can use to the example is a trumpet, or I could make my own synthetic version, however knowing me this might completely fail 0.o
What do you think?

hi
i can understand how a piece like this could be hard to do.
in the movie the alien was playing a wierd sax thing. but as this doesent actually exist that could be hard. the origional song that luckas used was piano.
so a mix of trumpet, sax (if you have it) and piano + percussion will do very well. thank you.

Ok I'm going fine, I got an oboe sound and I've made the first 19 seconds... Would you like to hear it?

EDIT: Here you go :)

EDIT: The file has been updated so yeah... that's the song for you
Also if you want to you can cut the last 12 seconds or so off, because for some reason the note held too long >_<

-------------------------------------------------------------

Darkblade:
Honestly I have given up on SFX so yeah... Find someone else to do it for you. ^_^

Misumen:
Here is your music.
Firstly, Random Floaty Things Are Floaty
And your second song - Who Turned The Lights Off

What you do is:

1. Right click the link

2. Click "Save Target As", "Save Link As", or similar button (Depends on your browser)

3. Save to wherever you like

4. Import to your game / your game's resource folder

5. Also (Completely off-topic) I suggest downloading Chrome if you still use Internet Explorer, it is faster, more secure and generally better :P
