And no, I won't add in any sort of racing mode.
Ok... Why?
A racing mode wouldn't make sense. It's the same reason I removed firebars during BLS's development; Bowser is slow and not exactly the racing type.
Well, if you have easy suggestions, let me hear them.
Maybe make something equivalent to the skulls in halo, but not all negative. You find red coins scattered across the world - and you unlock effects through them, such as:
- Bowser bomb goes through infinite layers of blocks.
- Bullet bills don't die when you bounce on them.
- Small fast toads are twice as fast - ie. four times as fast as normal.
- Instant power bar recharge.
- Two health maximum.
- Infinite health.
- Bowser destroyed weak bricks by simply jumping on top of them. (though he can walk on them)
Though obviously all these red coins would stop you getting score.
I'm sure there are better ideas - the point is that you have to make some kind of update, your WIP topic became hot, whereas this one is stagnating because of the way forums work.
Those suggestions sound like a weird combination of god-mode and super-hard mode characteristics being unlocked by collectible items. I definitely won't be doing that, simple reason being that simple items like that may be easy enough to program, but preventing them from ruining the game is another thing entirely.
I understand you want some sort of update to drag more attention into BLS, but Bowser's Last Stand is complete. Unless it's very small (i.e. won't ruin anything or take too much effort) or a bugfix, I don't want to do it. If that means Bowser's Last Stand gets less attention than it deserves, so be it. I created BLS mostly because I thought it could be a fun game (and it is), not to attract attention. Attention is just a very nice side-effect. I don't mean to sound like a stubborn prick, I just don't see the point in adding novelties just to get a fangame that I made for fun more attention. Of course, though, BLS is open source, and if you want to make improvements, I will have no problem at all with you doing that, and heck, as long as it's not game-breaking, I'll be glad to make it the official "1.1" release.
