USB Sound Cards compatible with GM & Windows 7 64

It has to be a USB sound card, because this computer is a laptop.
I tried GameMaker on a different computer than this laptop, both were otherwise identical installs of Windows 7 64 bit, and it worked on the desktop, but not the laptop, for sound, and I believe it is because the laptop does not have good 64 bit sound drivers... Or they aren't compatible with Direct X 8.1...
Thanks in advance!

also have you tried installing the drivers in compatibility mode if your laptops older?
try selecting the driver and 'check for updates', also do a full windows update, make sure you check recommended/other updates as these might not be checked off.

you should definitely get the official drivers for your laptop, give me your laptop brand and your laptop id number / model number and ill find them for you.
Dell Inspiron 1525, running 7 64 bit Professional... Sound works! In all programs except for GameMaker...
also have you tried installing the drivers in compatibility mode if your laptops older?
I will try that and report back...

I've already done this, as well as making sure DirectX was up to date...

Tried this, no luck.. for some reason, GameMaker is unable to detect the audio device, even though the OS sees it, and all other programs with audio are able to access it...

Note: As the drivers for Dell inspiron 1525 are not compatible with Windows 7, I suggest you to install the drivers in Vista compatibility mode on your computer. Refer:http://support.dell....en&catid== To do that you need to follow the steps provided below. a. Locate the installer.exe or setup.exe file in your folder.
b. Right-click on the file.
c. From the contextual menu, choose Properties.
d. Under Compatibility tab. Choose the version (Vista) of Windows you want to emulate.
e. Select the "Run this program in compatibility mode" checkbox. Run the installer
this is from another site i found, hope this helps!
