You're better off NOT releasing it. Because once you do, you'll realize nobody wants it. And that's depressing....the only reason i'm not publishing it is because I know that there is a decompiler out there.
But as long as you don't release it, you can delude yourself into believing it's incredibly valuable.

@Northerify: not sure if there's a decompiler for 8.1*, or not. Probably not (yet). But either way, worrying so much that you won't even release your game is rather silly. Like deciding to be a victim before a thief even strikes! lol...
Funny... much of the worry over decompilers is from people who can't make decent games in the first place. Not saying your game is bad... but honestly, is it really so good that you can't risk releasing it?
Besides, if someone does decompile your game... so what? That won't stop your game from being popular. So why worry? Just release your game and have fun with it.

Funny... just before you posted, I edited my post to change "most" to "much". I didn't want anyone to think I mean their game in particular. But I do feel these concerns often come from beginners, who have no reason to worry about theft. Not saying, just implying.Funny... most of the worry over the decompiler is from people who can't make decent games in the first place. @Northerify: Look at all the great GM games on the YYG showcase (like Prison Ball, for example). Imagine where these authors would be if they agonized over a decompiler?

It isn't always just about theft. For e.g. if a game is very much about the online highscore, then obfuscating, and 'anti-decomiling' is top-priority. If someone gets hold of the source code, then they'll have all the information they need to wreck your highscore. But I do feel these concerns often come from beginners, who have no reason to worry about theft.
(While it's true that 'nothing' is unhackable, it'll at least stop the skill-less tricksters.)
Oh, I could afford to release Prison ball. But not my preciouss... myyy preeecioussss......@Northerify: Look at all the great GM games on the YYG showcase (like Prison Ball, for example). Imagine where these authors would be if they agonized over a decompiler?

I was try score_under's anti decompiler and gm obfuscator; You can obfuscate your game instead (use search), or use a executable packer, not related to GameMaker.
Two of them have problem on Gm 8.0
Anti decompiler gives : file seems corrupted error.
obfuscator is fine but i'm usin' dll for my game and it cannot find that dll ( i'm using working_directory and just 'dll.dll' )
So as you said i'll try an executable packer program. Thanks

A)There's nothing stopping people from just rewriting your game. Games made with game maker are pretty easily codeable, and you can easily steal graphics with screenshots and music with a recording device. It's the ideas that take a lot of work for a good game, and anti-decompilers can't protect you from someone stealing your ideas.
B)The much bigger concern, people outright stealing your game and selling it, has nothing to do with decompilers.
