On some of my games I started getting a strange behaviour whenever I close the game. First windows tells me that the application has stopped working, and when I click "close" a "Runtime error 216 ddress]" appears. After this it goes back to GM as nothing happened. This only happens to some of my games, apparently without a specific cause.

I tried to figure out what was going on when the problem appeared with a simple example I'm making, but I can't really find a cause. In the example I'm not using dll nor extensions. The biggest image I have is a 800x600 background, removing it from the editable doesn't change anything, and neither removing every object from my room. If I remove both the background and the objects it works but... it's not very useful like this.

On the forum I found some people having the same problem, but usually it was caused by an extension, dll, or things I don't have in my file.

Can someone help me?

Thanks.

According to Microsoft, your computer is infected with a trojan. I've never had this problem myself, so I don't know what the real problem may be.

That's obviously not the problem here, suvseven is a virus of 10 years ago i believe it doesn't even work on window vista and 7. This error is not virus related, especially to that virus, the runtime error is just one symptom, but it's absoluetly not only related to subseven.

According to E-How

It can be on Vista and 7 systems

"Note that the removal instructions apply to the Windows 7 and Windows Vista operating systems."

How can you say that for sure?

You say you 'believe it doesn't even work on window vista and 7.' but didn't even run a check to see if it appeared possible?

Why are you sure it is not virus related and even more sure that it is not this one particular virus?

I can verify that SubSeven can be used to infect Windows Vista and 7. It is unlikely but there is also a chance the OP is using XP or lower - you didn't ask them as far as I can see?).

Whether or not it is related to a virus/trojan/other_nasty_thing, I don't know. But you can't just dismiss a possibility without stating any reason why? Sure it was made a while ago but that means nothing. For example the OP may have no antivirus installed. Don't just assume things without asking :)

I'm pretty sure about it because I formatted last week, and after Medusar message I run a full system scan. Obviously one can never be sure enugh, but considering these two factors plus the fact that this virus is really old and is detected by almost every antivirus on earth, that's my conclusion.

@Chazzmundo : I didn't ask because if you noticed, the OP is also mine, there's no point in asking myself if I have an antivirus or what OS I'm running

The first time I got this error, I looked at the room and objects. I moved one object one square away from the edge of the room and the error went away. The second time I got this same error is after adding some moving objects. I am thinking that the test for outside room is not quite correct, perhaps I will test the actual x and y coordinates instead. It seems that it does not like objects on the left side of the screen?

Update: Removed one object that traveled from right to left off the screen and error is gone.

Update 2: Yes, changed the check for outside room to check if x is smaller than 2, then destroy instance. Error is now gone.

Nope, random, comes back, does not always produce error. Still researching.

Started happening to me after the latest big Win7 update set (about 30 updates at once as I had the Windows Update set to ask before installing).
Currently it is only in this one example I uploaded to the bug tracker.
Maybe it's corrupted or something.

Subseven is still being updated. As well, a simple crypter could by pass the AV, with no problem, no matter how old it is.

But for your error, lets do another check for windows updates. Then update Java and all of your drivers.

Edit: Just realized how old this is. I hate when people don't post how they fixed their issue.
