Summary
This is a simple example of what surfaces can do. In this it shows how to make a simple "paint" program, with any brush colour and different brush sizes.

Lost access to the file, but I've just remade it now. If there's any examples of surfaces people want besides the paint example, let me know.

So I had a question and was told that they didn't know how to awnser it but they think it could be done with surfaces so here I am.
Here is the original post for reference but I will try to explain it a different way cause people were confused

So imagine a game where you have a pencile drawing on top of the color picture that the drawing was based on. And in the game you are trowing random objects at the drawing to rip away the drawing and reveal the photo underneath. Is there a way to do this in game maker? Have a random complex shape destroy one layer and reveal the layer behind it, but only destyoy it in the exact shape cutout of the object hitting it. Let me know if this still doesn't make sense and I will try another explanation :)
