Think I'm going to throw together a prize as well. (A real one, this time).
For fifth place only, I will review the game on my blog as well as create a Let's Play (although no guarantees on that; my laptop's screen recording and mic are crap).
Why only 5th place?
I think Snail got 5th place last time. So if it happens again he'll be able to advertise himself.

Why only 5th place?
Because I like to throw a wrench in the works, honestly
People who are on the brink of 3rd place but don't make it would normally settle for 4th, but now 5th place is more rewarding and there's this rift, and conflicting priorities are great and all.
And it has nothing to do with advertising myself; I actually got 9th place last time. Doesn't really make sense anyways since I'd probably make a blog post about my game regardless.
Really quick question, we can't start working on our game early but does that apply to music? Seems like a lot of people use pre-made music anyways.
The only problem with that site is that on iDevices all that loads up is the big round gmc jam logo. Is there anyway to fix this?
I tested on iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch, and it seems Javascript isn't working on either. With my Chrome fix, I had to set a fixed size for the logo, being (roughly) 256x256, which is taking up all the screen size on smaller devices. I don't know why Javascript isn't working on Safari, even though I have in enabled in my options, but it effectively makes my site useless. You can still scroll around with the invisible scroll bars to see the theme, but you have to refresh it on your own to update it. I would just use Mark's link to the GMT clock and keep an eye out for the theme in this thread.
I also fixed the theme display, since Mark changed the formatting of his first post, which ended up breaking my script. He placed the "Click for.." right after it, and I was trimming it up a little bit after that. So yah, don't mess with that area of your post too much, Mark >_<
On a different note: I'm changing ISPs today, so I won't have any internet (though, the ISP guys are like, 4 hours late in installing that...). I highly doubt there will be any other issues, but if there are I'll attend to them quickly. Again, iDevices are blocking Javascript, which is more than likely beyond my control. You'll have to use an actual computer (which I assume you'll be using anyways to use Game Maker!). If you want the clock visible while working in GM, keep it on the current tab of your browser and click the "Display countdown in title" checkbox. This will display the timer on your window's title, which you can then minimize and view it from your taskbar.
Anyways, good luck to all!
EDIT: For Mark, about the other discussion topics
Spoiler
By the looks of it, you probably already made up your mind, but hey, extra input shouldn't hurt
Better method to present the games? A linked list, zip, other? (HAS TO BE ON THE GMC)
Permit the winner add a restriction to the theme (or make the restriction itself the theme)? (EG: only use a certain palette, or shapes, or only one button etc...)
Should all games have an obligatory f1 information page?
1) The current setup is nice: Game1 by Person1 Game2 by Person2 ...etc
Where Game# is either a direct link to the game download, or a link to the game's topic if there is one present. Basically, whatever the creator posts in the games thread.
Zip download for all games Folder organization:
Jam Games
Game1 by Person1
Game1.exe
External resources
Game2 by Person2
Game2.exe
...etc
2) The theme itself is already a restriction, so I don't think there needs to be any further ones allowed.
3) If you use the organization I outlined above, each game will have their own separate folder inside it. This lets the creator use external resources, but also include a readme.txt. However, a F1 screen should definitely be a must. It's consistent, easy to remember, and lets the game be delivered as a standalone executable.

It's strange, since my iOS device has Javascript enabled, and your site works on regular Safari, but not on Mobile Safari. Wonder why that is?

I'm quite puzzled myself as well. It's the same for me. I guess I'll have to see if Mobile Safari requires certain meta tags or whatnot. Something to keep in mind for next Jam.
Oh, ISP guys are here. Looks like I'll be down for a while here shortly. Should only take a couple hours, but we know it's gonna take longer (all day?).

I hope the countdown doesn't disappear when you're cut off?
By the way, I'd like to request musician and graphical artist, for all graphics, or just some if you aren't capable of doing some, though I'd prefer either artist for sprites and such or menu designer etc. since mixing of art doesn't always look good. I live in Sweden so i live according in GMT +1 (With DST change during the jam ofc.)
If I don't get any of these I'm gonna have to rely on the graphics provided by YoYogames, though I hope I won't have to. It's not that they look bad, they're just not created by me or a team member =( .
Good night and good luck everybody! Have fun, GMC!
Mark, the prize was to have secret access to all the alpha and beta versions of my games til the Jam #8 discussion topic is opened, so long as they dont share with others info, screens, downloads etc. without my permission. And the ignore thing was a joke, nevermind about that.
Anywho, count me in superior game developers! :DDD

If you don't refresh it'll stay up but the theme won't be revealed on the page.
I honestly was not aware the uni had a time that it opened... I thought it just... was. I am now on the pavement outside, waiting for 10am... brilliant.
This is what the uni is all about man, procrastination with gameMaker and forgetting the last time you got up before midday :D
for some reason the countdown does not work on safari for pc either, but does work on a sony erricson K700I
It works on Safari for PC for me...
