I take it that currently IE will not display HTML5 games, and elsewhere there seems to be discussion on various script-fu that may or may not help. One thing I've read about is the "Chrome Frame" plugin which takes over rendering a page if it contains a special tag in the header:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=9,chrome=IE8">
The bit I've added: ="IE=9,chrome=IE8">

Edited, only invokes the plugin for IE8 or earlier, lets IE9 handle it natively.

Now I don't know if this is any help, since obviously the system viewing the page may not have the CF plugin installed, but if it is then the result looks pretty seamless, I'm running it and my example just works as though IE supported it.

There's a lot of stuff in the developer guide: Chrome Frame getting started including scripts to prompt the user to install it, but its more than I could take in.

My random maze generator:Maze note it is non interactive I just used it as a sample.

As a footnote the maze program failed to load the first few times, turns out the "Jump to random" DnD action borks it.

OK That's cool, I must still have IE8 then

Edit I'm stuck with 8 on this PC as the hardware fails the compatibility test for Windows 7

Still there's a tag for that too, runs the plugin if the IE version is below the level you specify.
