I have successfully created programs on windows gamemaker using both 39dll and mplay. Im more of a mac guy, so i was trying to use mac to create some new programs, but i cannot get any networking to work. Using both 39dylib and mplay comes up with the same errors. It says that there are unknown scripts or functions. I have checked every line of code and made sure that the scripts and funcitons turned purple and blue and were recognized, but again and again i get the error. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

I would imagine you'd need to find a cross platform library. I'm a bit out the loop, haven't been around GM for a while but unless 39dll had an update its a wrapper of winsock (windows socket API) and MPLAY is a (depreciated) component of DirectPlay/DirectX so both only work on windows.
Edit: sorry about that, it appears I posted in a forum I didn't know existed previously
. I'm not sure about libraries for MAC unfortunately. Did you try using the networking library that's located in the topic below this one? That is the MAC version of 39dll.

Thanks for the reply, and yeah that makes sense that mplay would not work, i just dont know why they built it into mac then. and yeah im actually having trouble with 39dylib, not 39dll. One funny thing about the 39dylib template is that it had only 2 scripts in the script folder, however all of the functions in the tutorial are illuminated a color even though they are not in the scripts folder, in appose to the windows 39dll which has hundreds of scripts

I solved my script errors, but however now i get another error saying it cannot find text_edit.bmp .... no where did i ever code to load up any files like that so it must be part of the dylib im guessing. Sorry for kind of changing the topic but i figured it was close enough to keep on the same thread.
again, any comments are appreciated
thanks,
Mitch
